How to Get Rid of Arthritis Pain Naturally

Arthritis is one of the most common causes of joint pain, especially among the elderly. But it is not simply a disease of the senior citizen. It can plague young and old alike. Injuries also play a part in contributing to this painful disease. In fact, I am 42 and have had arthritis for over 10 years because of injuries I sustained in a car wreck and another injury I received playing softball.

Arthritis is responsible for literally millions of people spending billions of dollars on prescription and over the counter drugs. I personally prefer to use natural remedies of getting rid of arthritis pain versus using synthetic remedies.

The focus of this hub will be on how to get rid of arthritis pain naturally. I feel these methods have worked for me and I'd like to share them with you. Every person reacts differently to different natural remedies just as they react differently to prescription medications, so please check with your physician.

Keeping arthritis joint pain in check is very important for me because of my job. I am a paramedic and need to make sure my body is in good working order so I can concern myself with taking care of others instead of myself. If my arthritis is acting up in my wrist, it is very hard for me to lift patients, treat them, and then write run reports documenting my care. So here are the methods I use on a regular basis to help keep my pain under control.

Natural Arthritis Pain Relief Gel

I use multiple herbs in trying to reduce my arthritis wrist pain and boswella is one of them. Boswella is used mostly for joint pain that has been going on long term, or chronically. It will not give you the pain relief feeling in and of itself, but will help reduce the swelling that is causing your arthritic pain.

I also use Arnica. Arnica is another herb you can use to help reduce inflammation. The medical center at U of C in San Francisco performed research which concluded that topically applying Arnica was beneficial for lowering inflammation.  It also worked for bruising in minor contusions.

I use both of these herbs in conjunction with a product called Cryoderm (TM).  This product contains only natural products.  You can buy it as either a spray or a roll-on.  I use it whenever I have an attack of arthritis pain or I know I've overdone it while playing sports or whenever I overdo it when I play the guitar.  It also has proven effective when I type too much and I get sore afterwards.

Some of the other natural ingredients in CryoDerm Analgesic Cryotherapy 3.0 oz Roll On - Pain Relief (TM) are Ilex, which is known to reduce pain and create more mobility for joints.  Menthol is another natural ingredient that is also known as an anti-swelling pain reliever.  Very important to this product is MSM.  It is crucial for healthy joints.

Pepperment OIl is another ingredient used and helps stimulate the blood vessels in the affected area.  This helps get proper blood flowing to the injured area which is important for cleaning out all the damaged cells.  This product has worked very well for me.

Glucosamine and Chondroitin Helps Get Rid of Arthritis

Glucosamine and Chondroitin supplements are one of the best ways on how get rid of arthritis pain naturally. Glucosamine and chondroitin are usually used in tandem. Both of them are naturally occurring sugars in the body, so it is very rare for the body to have adverse effects to taking them.

They are also a double blessing to arthritis patients. Both sugars have been found assist in the rebuilding and repairing of joints and cartilage. This helps not only with preventing further arthritic damage, but also helps in fixing existing damage. This damage is the underlying cause of arthritis. Glucosamine and chondroitin also help reduce inflammation that is caused by this damage.

I have taken these supplements for a very long time, and I consider them vital for helping me get rid of arthritis pain.

Devil's Claw is another herb you can use to help you with arthritis.  It is especially good for gouty arthritis because studies show it helps lower uric acid levels.  It has also been found useful for rheumatoid arthritis pain relief.  It is useful for arthritis because it helps clean out toxic waste from your joints.

Folic acid is also helpful because it helps clean out toxic waste from the joints and it helps repair tissue.  While not directly related to helping arthritis, it can be useful as a secondary remedy.
