Before I have flu, I will definitely have sore throat. If I cure my sore throat, the flu will not occur. The germs connect to each other. Usually I drink warm water with salt and watch my diet. Your tips are useful too. Great for those sore throat hubbers!

If you get rid of a sore throat, it does not prevent the flu. the germs do not 'connect'. The reason one has a sore throat, is because your body produces antibodies that attack its own throat, and essentially burn it to try and kill the virus. All symptoms are your bodies inflammatory response to the virus, and they are all for trying to remove the virus as quickly as possible. Though, with modern vaccines, it is quite hard for the body to naturally remove viruses and bacteria, because they have built up immunity from decades of vaccination use.
