How to Lose Weight with Diet Shakes, Slim-fast & Body by Vi

The Plan

1.

Replace 2 meals a day with the diet shake. Use either premixed shakes that usually come in cans or mix the powder shake mix in with milk, preferably skim milk. Both the premixed shakes and the powder mix can be found in generic form at many retailers, Walmart, Costco and Fred Meyer to name a few.

2.

Eat 1 healthy sensible meal per day. Including healthy "slow carbs" and protein in this meal. Most people have their "meal" in the evening as dinner but it is up to you when the "meal" of the day will be.

3.

Eat three snacks per day. one between breakfast and lunch, one between lunch and dinner and one after dinner. Snacks should be healthy, full of fiber and protein. There are many options to snack on that can be found ready to eat. Slim-fast as well as other 'diet" companies offer many snack bars. Fruit, low fat dairy, low fat protein snacks are all acceptable otions for snacks.

4.

Exercise and stay active. This is highly recommended with any weight loss system. The more you exercise the more muscle you build and the better your metabolism gets which in turn burns more fat and calories.

Make sure you are buying the flavors that you like the most.

Keep it interesting with flavors and snack options.

Find a friend or family member to do this with so you can have support and someone to be accountable to.

Keep a food journal so you can keep track of what you eat.

My husband and I have been on the Slim Fast diet since May and are quite happy with it. We did go on it about 6 or 7 years ago, but then went off the diet and gained all the weight back. Hopefully this time we won't.

I tried it years ago, but I found that I couldn't stay on anything that didn't involve 'real' food for a meal. My greatest success has just come with eating healthy food in small portions.
