Ginseng is a potent long term immune system booster. Ginseng comes in a standardized extract in capsule form. Look for ginseng supplements that contain 5 percent ginsenosides. It is optimal to start out with lower doses taken between meals, and work your way up to the 5 percent. A typical consumption cycle is 3 weeks on, then 2 weeks off.

Reishi are a type of mushroom that helps to overcome low immunity. These potent mushrooms are highly esteemed in the Orient. Look for encapsulated reishi in local health food stores, and take according to directions. Not only will reishi help your immune system, it also helps with overall energy levels.
