How to be lucky in life? Grab opportunities!

'Luck? I don't know anything about luck. I've never banked on it and I'm afraid of people who do. Luck to me is something else: Hard work - and realizing what is opportunity and what isn't.'- Lucille Ball

Everyone wants luck in their life. 'I am born unlucky’ most of you utter these words when you face problems and defeats in your life.

What do you mean by luck?

  • You want the best things in life.
  • You want to be affluent and wealthy.
  • You want money with minimum efforts on your part.
  • You want success in your work without hard work.

You always assume that the rich people are the luckiest person in the whole world. You envy their incredible social status and think that god has bestowed them with luck.

If you feel luck and richness go hand in hand why are most rich people unhappy and sad?

It is true money is a great status symbol and the world respects you for what you are worth. But sadly you want everything in a platter with minimum work from you.

Even I had been a culprit in having such thoughts! There was a phase in my life when I felt that God should make me rich and wealthy by blessing me with the biggest lottery prize. I never realized how silly I was! I wanted a big bungalow, latest car, costly jewelry and other materialistic things that will make me envied by others.

How naive I had been!

Being lucky is not winning a million dollar lottery! Luck is something else. It is making use of the opportunities that come your way! But sadly most of you do not utilize your opportunities as it involves hard work and smart work.

It might take time, but hard work pays! It pays handsomely!

Winning a million dollar lottery is a freak accident. Not everyone has such luck. If you keep dreaming about it and think that one day you would be rewarded with a million dollar prize you are in for great disappointment.

You can call yourself lucky only if you work relentlessly towards your success. If you are consistent in your work, you will definitely be rewarded with what you had always dreamed about..

Opportunities keep knocking at your door and you are lucky if you grab it before it disappears from your sight. You should make use of opportunities, however small it might be. If you feel certain opportunities are too inadequate for your capacity, you are doing irrevocable damage to your life. It is small things that lead to bigger and more prolific openings in your life.

Have you read about the life of successful people? You find that their success was all sweat and toil. They had struggled to reach the position of triumph you see and envy. They did not reach their pinnacle just like that! You see their façade of richness and decide that successful people are the lucky ones.

But if you have a peep inside their life you see how hard they have worked to reach this position of success and victory. Their success can be yours if you take positive actions to achieve your goal. Things do not happen by themselves and it is you who should make it happen. You should be aware of your opportunities to make optimum use of it. You should be mentally geared up to snatch opportunities that glide your way.

You are lucky if you say ‘yes’ to it.

Do not doubt your success? Never do that as it will freeze you into inaction. When you do not act you do not achieve anything. You should think and act in an emphatic way! You must not be averse to failures as failing is one form of improvising. Without failing you cannot succeed! You are wrong if you feel failures make you defeated.

Forget the million dollar lottery! You should concentrate on the million dollar reward waiting to be yours if only you think positively, act innovatively and work relentlessly.

How can you be sure that you can win a lottery? But you can be sure of your success when you are persistent and consistent in your work.

When you work hard and smart you are sure to achieve great recognition and success. All you should do is to realize your potential and work hard to grasp your true luck.

A nice write-up but I have my reservation on the title, When you say luck, it goes beyond one's control or hard work. It is the destiny that a person can make through hard work.

Hi mathira,

Your hub was beautiful and I voted thus. It seems like I was right in not believing in luck. One has to work as hard as we do on Hubpages to get a nickel. You were good in relaying your views. I will definitely come again. Please prepare some roti for me. Lol.

People have always told me if I 'think' lucky and believe that I am lucky then I'll find luck....but it never worked. In the end I had a spiritualist pray for me using ancient Buddhist and Taoist techniques they learnt during their time as a monk in South East Asia. I was sceptical that it would work but to my amazement I started to feel luckier the following day, they soon got in touch to tell me they had prayed for me earlier that day and that it had been success. Since then I have been lucky in love, career, general day to day life, with money and everything else. I'll find money in the street, things will always work out perfectly for me, I got promoted at work twice after years of going nowhere, I met the love of my life and we got married and had 2 kids. Everything fell into place and I continue to be lucky today. Amazing!

If anyone else is interested in having someone pray for them then go here:
