How to lose weight effectively

 

There is so much stuff written on how to lose weight that if you want to lose weight you feel confused which one to follow and which one to not. There are various ways in which one can work to lose weight. To name few: diet plans, exercise, detox, are some of the ways by which one can lose weight.

Internet, television and print media is bombarded with advertisements regarding weight loss medicines and other ways. When one looks at those ads it seems that weight loss is an easy task because most of the ads say that you will lose pounds or kilos within a week or two. In reality it is not that simple. At times you lose weight for present but you will gain weight as soon as you leave using that diet plan and come to your routine diet and lifestyle. Therefore, to believe in any dieting or weight loss method is not an easy task.

Weight loss is not something the results of which you will get in few days. You have to work slowly to shed extra calories that you have gained during years or months. The process is neither that simple nor that difficult but you have to be persistent. But one thing is sure never try a method which claims to lose weight within days or in short period of time.

Some of the ways in which one can lose weight

Exercise: Exercise is the best practice to lose weight. Exercise will help you lose weight and at the same time it will help you maintain healthy heart, lungs, mind and every other organ of your body. There are exercises which can help you shed extra killos from any part of your body, for example from arms, buttocks, belly, shoulders, legs etc.

Pros: There are millions of advantages of exercise. When you lose weight by exercise you are on no loss. A casual and light walk after every meal helps digest food readily and burn extra calories. Jogging or running in morning and evening are helpful in rapid burning of extra fats from different parts of body. There are specialized exercises that will help you shed weight but for them you should consult an instructor.

  • With exercise your respiratory system works more efficiently and more supply of oxygen is available to your lungs.
  • People who do exercise in routine do not feel constipation or other digestive especially intestinal problems.
  • Skin too nourishes from exercise because with exercise the skin more easily sheds dead skin and it looks young and fresh.
  • Heart is an organ which is on top in getting benefit from exercise. A routine walk in the morning and in the evening ensures healthy heart through out your life.

Cons: Exercise has no disadvantages but a caution should be taken when going for heavy exercises. Especially those that involve carrying weight etc because ineptly exercising can cause injury to any part of body.

Diet Plans: Diet plans are dependent on your body type, weight, height, lifestyle and work hours. Usually to get a diet plan for reducing weight one has to consult a dietician or a doctor. Most of the diet plans help you reduce weight not more than 1 or 2 pounds a week; reducing more than that with in a week can be dangerous for health.

Pros: Diet plans are helpful when you are working on one that has been advised by a doctor. There are diet plans that not only help you lose weight but maintain healthy body too. In the past people cut off their diet to minimum to lose weight but that was not an accurate way of dieting. Today doctors prescribe diet plans that are rich in vitamins, minerals and protein but low in carbohydrates and fats.

Cons: Diet plans can be dangerous if you are using one without any instructions from doctor etc. Some diet plans can cause you shed weight too rapidly which can be dangerous for your health.

Detox: Detox or detoxification is a process in which the wastes and toxic materials are removed from the body. This is relatively new method as compared to the other methods of weight loss. Actually the basic purpose of detox is not to lose weight but to maintain healthy body. Usually people consume variety of fruits and vegetables and avoid junk food, unhealthy food, spices etc. By detoxification a person loses weight while boosting good health.

Pros: Detox is better than dieting in one way that it boosts health because of use of healthy food stuff. Detox eliminates all toxic wastes from your body and after your detoxing session ends will feel much healthy and energetic and your skin, nails and hair too will get benefits.

Cons: Detox plans too should be followed by only consulting with a doctor, nutritionist or dietician.

Laser Method: By laser method extra fats can be removed from any part of your body; though this method is gaining popularity but it has various side effects. This method is more suitable for very obese people who cannot lose weight by just cutting down their routine diet or exercise.

Pros: Laser methods use to burn fat very rapidly and many obese people get very positive results. With in few sessions the laser specialist will burn all extra pounds. This process ensures weight loss.

Cons: Using laser method to get rid of extra weight has too much implications and it has many side effects which can not be ignored. In the longer run laser use can cause serious health problems.

Weight Loss Medicines: Weight loss medicines are also available in market by various brand names. These medicines, usually pills or some form of powder which has to be taken with water, claim to lose weight with in weeks. It has been seen in many cases that people lose weight by using these medicines but after leaving their use they again put on weight which becomes much more difficult to shed.

Pros: Weight loss pills are available in many medicine stores by different brand names. They offer a course of few months or a year.

Cons: In many cases pills helped people to lose weight but after they left intake of pills they experienced again weight gain. This is actually because they have just used pills that inactivate the hormones that cause weight gain for short time after people quit their use they again gain weight because their lifestyle has not changed and they again become obese or fatty.

Exercise is the most natural way to lose weight in my opinion. It is also helpful to limit your caloric intake if you have some extra pounds...

I did tried diet pill, tea and blood type diet. The result is vary and most important thing is not permanent at all. Once you stop using it, slowly you will gain your weight back. really annoying!

From my experience so far, exercise still the best diet 'medicine'. The problem is, it is not easy to make people get used to do exercise everyday, mostly when it will give pain in first 3 or 4 weeks. But once he/she passed through this period of times, this person will become addictive to do exercise, and as an addiction, you will never able to reject it's call without strong reason. Isn't that sweet? ^^

I agree with you freya there is no side effect of exercise but other methods can have side effects.

Exercise, no doubt, is the best way to lose weight. Exercise is not only good for weight loss but for maintaining overall health.
