Improve Your Sex Life with Healthy Eating

Asparagus is an erotic shaped vegetable from the lily family. It's considered an effective stimulant, not only due to it's shape, but for it's composition as well. It contains phytohormones or phytosteroids. These are plant chemicals that have steroid-like action in humans. A 2002 study found that Asparagus exerted an estrogenic effect. (PMID:12387301).

Like soy and licorice, asparagus can influence the sex hormone receptors and is rich in vitamin E which has been long known for stimulating the production of our sex hormones. It's also high in Folic Acid, fiber, vitamin B6, vitamins A and C, and thiamine. All of these offer potent sexual health benefits. The Vegetarian Society suggests eating asparagus for three days in a row for the most powerful effect.

These fleshy green spears of succulence known as asparagus have been considered a delicacy since ancient times. They can be served a number of ways. Feed your lover steamed spears for a sensuous experience. You can also experiment with Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus as an appetizer, or Shrimp and Asparagus for a main course.

Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus

Ingredients:
1/2 Pound of sliced Prosciutto
8 oz. soft neufchatel cheese
12 trimmed asparagus spears

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 450. Spread neufchatel cheese onto slices of prosciutto and wrap around two spears of asparagus. Place on baking sheet. Place in preheated oven for fifteen minutes.

Shrimp and Asparagus

Ingredients:
1 Pound peeled and deveined shrimp
1 Pound Fresh Asparagus
16 oz. egg noodles
4 cloves minced garlic
1/2 cup olive oil
1 cup butter
1 Tbls. Lemon Juice
1 Pound Thinly sliced mushrooms
1/2 Cup Parmesan Cheese
Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions:
Boil or steam asparagus until tender, immediately place in ice water and set aside. Cook noodles and drain well. In a large saucepan, saute garlic in olive oil until golden brown. Add butter, lemon juice and shrimp and cook until shrimp turns pink. Add mushrooms and asparagus and continue to cook until mushrooms are tender. Toss in egg noodles and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
