How to Increase Your Chances of Getting Pregnant

Want to increase your chances of getting pregnant? The best approach is a multi-faceted one. Don’t just rely on one strategy; implement many. Here are a few things that fertility experts encourage patients to try:

Begin by Figuring Out When You Ovulate. Start charting your basal body temperature and keep an eye out for cervical and mucus changes throughout your cycle. This will help you get a firm grip on your most fertile time each month and increase your chances of getting pregnant. You can learn more about fertility charting in this hub guide to fertility charting...

Adopt a Super Foods Fertility Diet. Giving your body the perfect mix of vitamins, nutrients, enzymes and phytonutrients before you ever try to conceive will help to prepare your body for carrying a child. While it is important to add a lot of whole natural grains; fresh organic fruits and vegetable; good fats and protein to your diet it is just as important to stay away from these fertility busters:

  • processed foods laden with preservatives and chemicals
  • dairy and meats derived from animals that are given hormones and antibiotics
  • soy products (they contain an estrogen mimicking product that can inhibit pregnancy)
  • processed sugars and grains
  • saturated fats
  • alcohol
  • any foods or drinks heated in plastic
  • and even tap or bottled water (it contains estrogen mimicking chemicals).

Great Information. I am on the path to getting healthy. I feel my body is toxic and I am reading "Core Balance" right now. I would like to have a baby, but most importantly I want to get healthy. I guess I need to start with diet. Is there anything additionally that I should think about?

The Fertility Diet is the most important first step in preparation for pregnancy. The second, in my opinion, is doing a Fertility Cleanse. This can help to cleanse the body of toxins, excess hormones and help nourish and tone the uterus. Best wishes on your fertility journey!

Should I get a blood test to find out my deficiencies before I start, or will this take care of it naturally without additional helps?

Getting testing done can be helpful before using natural therapies so you can be more specific and create a program that is right for you. However the Fertility Cleanse does not address specific deficiencies, but instead supports the body in cleansing and preparing itself. You can see a naturopath or book an online fertility consultation with us if you feel there are some signs of imbalance.

Most women however can get pregnant naturally right away with just making healthy changes to their lifestyle.

The reason I asked is I have been diagnosed with PCOS and uterine polyps, so I thought maybe I needed to have an extra assessment. I think I will start with the diet and go from there. Thank you for all your help, I really appreciate it.
