It's Stealing My Life From Me

A simple poem about depression and dealing with being severely ill.

Look in my eyes,

and you will see,

the sparkles gone,

It's been taken from me.

I fight real hard,

to get it back,

I can't even be happy,

when some one brings a card.

I do have happy times,

life can be good.

I hope I'm not like this,

my entire lifetime.

People won't be my friend,

because I am very sick.

I make them unconfortable,

so an email they might send.

I'm in big black hole,

I don't know how,

To pull myself up,

from my life the darkness stole.

I don't want to be like this,

I'm not the only one.

There are others too,

Sad for the life we've missed.

Today I still keep up the fight.

To make my life happy,

like everyone else,

being well is not out of sight.

I have some nerve damage in my back and my feet, the pain is indescribable.Last week my sister in law saved my life.I died they brought me back.I thank god for every wonderful day I'm alive, had my sis in law not been here then I'd be in big trouble! Cherish each day you are alive good or bad.Sadly I learned how loved I truly was (I didn't think I deserved love) I am truly loved by a bunch of people .God blessed me with life,it's up to me how I walk it!I have a heart condition which is why I died.

I was writing a reply and boom it posted it. I had written a poem,The Empty chair.my father in law (dad) would cry when he heard it.I was asked to read it at dads funeral.I felt so honored.

I just got home, my mom's in the hosp ICU, for her 8th back op I got worse everytime losing feeling in something so I quit after 3.I feel so bad for her. This is my life I don't want pity, sympathy or anything else. You play the cards you are dealt .Also help others to play their cards. I am trying to help others to learn. So I publically came out.Mom's gonna be ok, that good. Thankyou so much for reading it and commenting on it. Thankyou for sharing your time.:)

A very good work, but so forlorn and sad. I hope it's just fiction.

Hi Rusti, this is so sad, and if it is personal all I can say is I am sorry. I hope things will get better. I only hope you have written it for someone else. My best.
