Here are some very simple grandma's remedy that will cure you. The simple medicines are available in your kitchen.

  • Honey has the power to heal wounds and seal infection as its concentration of sugars gives honey germ killing power. Apart from being sweet, it is also moisturiser and antioxidant. Try this moisturising honey mask, which also soothes dry skin : mix two teaspoons of honey and two teaspoons of whole milk, warm slightly in the microwave, apply for 10 minutes on your face rinse off with warm water. A pinch of honey can be applied if you develop blisters.
  • For treatment of asthma, take a teaspoon of fresh ginger juice with a cup of fenugreek decoction and honey to taste. This mixture acts as an excellent expectorant.
  • Hazelnut, Macadamia nuts, Pine nut, Brazilian nut, are healthy nuts of European origin are low on fat, calories and cholesterol.
  • To heal burns faster, add coconut oil to an aloe vera paste with turmeric powder and apply.
  • Suffering from a congested nose? Apply eucalyptus oil to its sides.
  • Being active can stimulate brain cell growth and lower the risk of developing Alzheimer's disease.
  • To cure constipation, have a glass of hot milk with a teaspoon of butter at bedtime.
  • Have bananas everyday to keep your blood pressure under control.
  • You can try eating a banana when you have a nagging headache.
  • If you boil vinegar and water in one of those small portable home steam machines and inhale the fumes, you will get relief especially from sinus headaches.
  • To cure cough, add a pinch of salt with two pinches of turmeric powder to one glass of warm water and gurgle.
  • Don't drink your fruit, eat it! Fibre from whole foods fills you up, helps lower cholesterol and improves digestion.
  • If your eyes burn for a long time because of any reason, put three drops of pure rose water for relief.
  • With growing pollution and unavoidable everyday travel to workplace, most of us experience an irritation in the throat which sometimes turn into bad allergic cough. Remedy for this : if you are not fussy about garlic, make a paste of two pods of garlic and two cloves. Mix in a teaspoon of honey. Drink one teaspoon of the juice three times a day.
  • Eat more fruits and vegetables. Most of them contain 80 percent of water and can contribute to three or four cups of your daily fluid intake.
  • Eating small bites of ice-cream is the key to avoid the highly dreaded ice-cream headache, a.k.a brain freeze.
  • To make your food healthier, use vegetable puree instead of cream, butter or egg yorks to thicken soups or dressings.
  • Just three lychee fruits can meet a third of an adult's daily vitamin C requirement.
  • Bitter Melon is used as a cure for diabetes as it decreases blood sugar and insulin levels.
  • Ginger is an excellent remedy for digestive problems. It strengthens bone formation and is beneficial for the heart.
  • Garlic is used for food and medicinal purposes. It helps prevent heart disease, high blood pressure and cancer.

  • Yogurt (curds) is very useful in insomnia. Taking plenty of it and massaging it on the head induces sleep.
