In Part One Lee described her onset of skin problems in dramatic detail, and the fear that she was in the process of a long slow painful death. The doctors could not find a solution to her skin problem and she was down to raw flesh, risking infections daily. Here, in Part 2 she describes how she found a cure on her own. Look at her photo and see the raidant smiling face of a fighter and an winner against unknown odds.

Lee, I read Part One and got all choked up with emotion on your terrible condition and the stress you were feeling. In Part 2 my heart swells with pride for you and happiness for your good health. Tell our readers the rest of your story.

Immune System Breakdown after Cancer (Part Two) by Lee Durmaj

I needed help as I could not manage to do any housework or prepare food. I could barely look after my wounds. I was fortunate to get help from my middle son. He was able to have some time off from work. The rest of my family and my friends did what they could but it was not easy due to work commitments and their own families. I was able to manage to wash and dress myself and cover my body with ointment and dress my wounds. I lost all my body hair, even the hair on my head was thinning out. All the insulation under my skin disappeared. I felt cold all the time. I just could not warm up at all. I had the heating inside my home up so high. Blood tests were indicating my blood was clotting; I was at risk of having a stroke or a heart attack. I have been treated for high blood pressure since I was 20 years old, no known cause. I was a mess. After all the tests that were completed to find the cause as to what was causing this, the only conclusion the specialist came to was my immune system had broken down. I did undergo four surgeries in seven months from the time I was diagnosed with cancer, which may have contributed to this condition if it was related to the immune system.

Whenever I went to see the doctor or specialist and I needed to undress I covered their entire floor in their office with my skin. I had to do something. You may ask, “Why did I not go to a hospital”, I guess I thought I would die. In many ways I cannot explain my feelings at the time. If doctors, specialist and test cannot find a cause then what could the hospital do?

I decided to take matters into my own hands; I have always believed that my life was guided by Divine intervention. My son took photos of my skin and I sent the photos to numerous companies that made natural products asking for their help. All replied with no guarantees, I read about all their ointments and creams and decided to go with a company who made a natural product for babies and adults. They were in Tasmania; they also supplied their baby products to the Children’s Hospital. I ordered a small tin of a product called Baby Botty Butter. It consisted of seven organic oils.

My face was the first thing I was going to try it on as it was encrusted with blood, I looked like a monster. When I went for a visit to my doctor people would move away. I started using the cream and my face cleared up completely in two weeks. The secretary couldn’t believe I was the same person; the skin was smooth like a baby’s bum, not one wrinkle or mark to show I had ever had a problem. I told my doctor I wanted to start a course of antibiotics as well because being a diabetic the risk of infection was enormous. I think he was ready to try anything with me at this point of time.

To order this ointment and apply it four times a day to my whole body was an impossible thought. The cost was way out of my budget since I was now on a pension and I did not know how long it would take to heal my body. I spoke to the lady that owned the company, for 500 grams the cost was $85AU, this would only last me a week. I believe they felt sorry for me. They agreed to sell me a six litre bucket for $200, I took the offer......It took three months to heal most of my body and another three month to be completely healed. I also took antibiotic for six months.

Many have commented at how young I look and I am lucky not to have any wrinkles. My skin healed completely and not one scar to show I ever had a problem. My body insulation returned the hair on my head has grown thick again. My body hair I don’t miss. I thank God every day. It has been five years and I have had no recurrence of the problem. I take herbs, vitamins and minerals to boost my immune system. I won’t eat anything that has additives or preservatives in it; everything I use or eat has to be natural. I am healthy and happy now. Thank you for reading my journey in surviving Cancer.

Take care always!

It makes me wonder what other condition the Baby Bottom Butter might work for. This is a wonderful story and I am sorry she had to go through all this suffering, but thank goodness she found a cure.

What an amazing story of your fight to regain your health and your search for help in healing your body! Lee, you showed so much bravery and strength in your quest for healing...I think that being a nurse probably gave you good insights into what to do. I wish you would do one more interview and tell us about the diet that you use to keep your immune system working at it's best! You could help countless people with the advice that you would have to give..or, better yet..write a book!!! I will be first in line to buy it! Love and hugs to you, Ruth

Thank you Barbara Kay for your comment, I do appreciate you reading my story. What I know is that Baby Botty Butter helped to heal my skin and I know that they use it in the children's hospital in Tasmania to heal baby's bottoms from severe nappy rash. I also know that people who have psoriasis, it also helps to heal their skin. My son used it as he has psoriasis. That is the extend of my knowledge but if you went on their site I am sure you could find many answers to your questions. The ladies are wonderful at explaining their products. Until this happened to me I did not know anything about natural therapy to heal skin disorders. Hope you have a lovely day, Lee

Your lovely comment is greatly appreciated Ruth, thank you so much. Nothing prepared me for this. I had no insight as to what to do. Divine guidance helped me to make all the right choices, right from the onset of being diagnosed with cancer. There is nothing that medical science (Western Medicine) could explain.

I realized one day that my body does not tolerate many of the Western medication. I am allergic to many of the pain relief drugs. After finding that there were medications I could not tolerate I decided to look for other alternatives, naturally made products. Many doctors will tell you it is a dangerous road I am travelling. Until I started to become older and different ailments came to be, I had no idea that I was indeed allergic to so many medications. That's another story!

Ruth the things I do or take I decided, I am not qualified to give that kind of advice. Also undertaking natural therapy to beat cancer most of the medical people would never believe in doing such a thing. My Oncologist thought I was out of my mind refusing Chemotherapy or at least Radiation. I was lucky to have an amazing Specialist who did an excellent surgery in removing my cancer and allowed me to make my own decision as to what if any treatment I would have. Every one facing a serious illness has a right to follow what they believe in. What I follow is for my specific need, every one's body is different so their needs are different. There are sites I can give you to collect information but that is all. Take care my friend, Lee

I'm happy that you are healed from that horrible infection. The cream must have had some powerful natural ingredients in it. Lee, you can be helping so many by getting this information out. What are the seven organic oils? Bought separately and mixed they can help many. I applaud you. Love from, Daveda

Dear Pat, it is so very kind of you to read my story, thank you for your lovely comment, your love and support always as well. It is so very true, what would we do without our faith, hope, love and friends. Sending blessings and love, Lee

Leokadia Durmaj 5 years ago

Thank you Daveda for your kind comment. In answer to your question as to what the Baby Botty Butter consisted of.....

Leatherwood beeswax, honey, coconut oil, certified (BFA) organic olive oil, macadamia oil, organic (OPA) sesame oil, Palm oil, castor oil, cocoa butter, siam benzoin resin, essential oils / macerated oils as labeled. When they made the bucket for me I asked them to add lavender oil as well.

The best thing about the product it does not stain your sheets. I still have some left over and I keep it in the freezer, it does not change consistency, it is fantastic. I now only use it on my hands and feet when my skin gets a little dry. Because it is very oily, but that was what my body needed at the time, I do not have any need to use it on my body anymore, my skin is still very soft to touch. I only use an aromatherapy cream every time I shower, as it keeps my skin healthy but non oily.

They make products for ladies and men as well and I have used them and they are fantastic, ladies ones that is, smile.... I believe they sell overseas as well. Take care always, love Lee
