Lose weight the natural way

Intro

Everyone who has ever tried to lose weight has a get slim quick scheme, some quick way of losing the flab. I have seen lots of these ideas come and go, some work, most don't. Don't eat carbs in the evening, just eat fruit, chocolate in moderation, shakes, pills, and lots of other magic potions and ideas about how to lose the weight fast, lose 10 pounds in a week some claim or I lost 2 stone in 6 weeks. It usually never works and the truth is if you are losing more than 2 pounds a week you are either very big to start with or you are jeopardising your health. In the next few paragraphs I will tell you what I learnt from doing a 3 year sports science degree, sure its not easy and yes it takes a lot of effort and will power but it works guaranteed.

The secret

Sshhh do you want to know the secret......Exercise and a healthy diet...That's it, that's all the secret to losing weight healthily. In simple layman's terms, Eating and drinking adds calories which are stored in the body to use as fuel throughout the day, if your body doesn't use all the fuel it gets stored as fat, that's all there is to it, so if you are quite inactive either in your job or home life and are eating more than the recommended calorie intake of 2000 calories for women or 2500 for men then you will add weight to your frame its that simple.

If you burn more calories then you have consumed then your body will start to burn the calories that have been stored in the body, thus you will lose weight, just hard work and sensible eating people. The old fashioned method and it works, 2 pounds a week over 2 months is just over a stone and how good would it feel to be a stone lighter then you are now. What follows is some basic exercises and a rough guide to sensible eating which should help you on you way to losing weight.

Boxercise

One of the best ways to lose weight as it is a fast calorie burner. You can either join a local boxercise class at a gym or prehaps your local leisure centre or buy yourself some hook and jab pads and some boxing gloves for about £30 quid from any good retailer and if you have a helpful partner you can do it from home and they are convienent to take with you wherever you are.

Just jabbing for a three minute round will have the sweat pouring off you then over a period of a few weeks build it up till you are doing 6 or 10 3min rounds. Incorporate other exercises such as getting a freind to hold your legs then come up in a situp and then throw out two punches then down again. Try doing 3 sets of 10. If doing this at home is your kind of thing then you could invest in a boxercise video. My advice would be to do a few classes first then if you dont like them at least you can take those exercises home with you.

Swimming

Swimming is also one of the best forms of exercise as it works most of the muscle groups in the body thus burning quite a few calories as well. If you can achieve at least one decent swim per week this will really help speed up your metabolism and fight the fat, no matter how strong a swimmer you are try and build it up so you can swim non-stop for at least 20 Min's but preferably half hour or more. It will work muscles you didn't even know you had, I consider myself to be fairly fit but when I did a swimming program recently even my bottom was hurting and I slept very well every night after I had been, early morning swims tend to burn the most fat as well as you don't have many calories stored as you haven't eaten yet.

Healthy eating

Remember the key is healthy eating and exercise, you cant really go wrong, ideally your dinner plate should consist of 1/4 meat,1/4 starch, such as potatoes or pasta and half vegetables, The best recipe Ive used personally is a fish fillet no breadcrumbs or batter just plain with three to four baby new potatoes and lots and lots of veg.This meal comes in at around 300-400 calories but is very filling and has all the goodness your body needs.There are lots of delicious but healthy recipes online and you may be able to find a good supply of these to help you through your weight loss programme.
