Losing Weight Safely With Success

This is my journey on the lose 30 pounds in 30 days weight loss programme.

I used to be a lovely size 8-10. My favourite shops were The Gap and Abercrombie & Fitch and I had a pair of Calvin Klein pants that I wore constantly.

When I met my boyfriend things started to change. He is such a wonderful guy. He would take me out to lovely restaurants and we would go to the movies on a regular basis. I love watching films and an evening at the movies isn’t complete without a tub of buttered popcorn and a jumbo coke.

After 6 months, I noticed that my clothes were feeling a little tighter than usual so I decided to step on the scales. To my horror I found that I had gained 20 pounds! I couldn’t believe it. How was that possible? I started to think back and remembered all those meals out with Chris as well as ordering Chinese take-out and pizzas to enjoy on the sofa while watching our favourite shows – 24, Law & Order, CSI (I do love my detective shows).

I knew I had to do something.  A good friend recommended a program by Rocco Castellano called Lose 30 in 30.  She told me that this guy had helped a girl who was on an episode of MTV’s Made.  She lost 30 pounds in one month.  I got the web address and signed up for the program immediately.  I got my boyfriend to do the program with me so that we could motivate each other.

I have to say, this was definitely money well spent. We learned so much about nutrition and the right exercises to do to tighten up and tone our bodies and, more importantly, how to lose weight.

I am so happy to say that I lost 22 pounds in one month. I have to admit that I did cheat a little when my boyfriend wasn’t looking (oops). But Chris did fantastically well. He lost 32 pounds! He looks even more amazing than he did when we first met.

We have totally changed out eating habits. We still have the odd Chinese take-out but only about once a month. When we go to the movies we get the smallest tub of popcorn and have exchanged the buttered popcorn for salted popcorn.

Exercise has become a regular part of our lives and because we do it together, we keep each other motivated and know that all the sweating and hard work is all worth it in the end.

There has been a sad casualty of this tale. I can no longer wear my favourite Calvin Klein pants. They are now too big for me. What a great excuse to go shopping.

Doing the lose 30 in 30 program wasn’t easy but it really was worth it once you see the results.
