Man I love the Elliptical! A Weight Loss Success Story

The Elliptical is My Friend

 I have been working to lose weight since February 1st. It has been a long hard road but I have finally gotten to where I like working out. My favorite machine is the Elliptical machine. I can burn a ton of calories and it has helped to lose the majority of the 55 pounds i have lost so far.

When i first started working out in February I could not even use the elliptical for five minutes without feeling like i was dying. But it finally got to where i needed to use the elliptical to burn enough calories to lose more weight. So i finally made myself get on and use it for at least ten minutes. It was extremely hard but i did it!!!

After doing it for ten minutes i slowly began working to do the elliptical for at least 20 to 30 minutes a workout. I have now built up my endurance and can use the elliptical for 45 minutes at a time. this is an amazing accomplishment to me and I have worked hard to be in the shape i am. I started at 299 pounds and now weigh 245. The machine i used to hate has now become my friend.

Calories Burned on the Elliptical

 Since I still have a good deal to lose to reach my goal I can still burn a great amount of calories on the elliptical machine. I have found that I can burn up to 800 for a forty five minute workout.

When using the elliptical machine, make sure you enter your weight as this will give you a better average of how many calories you are burning. I like to watch my time on the machine for one minute and see how many calories i can burn in one minute. I try to burn at least 20 per minute so i get 100 in a five minute time range. this way i can do a short 20 minute work out and still burn 400 calories. I also drink water every five minutes so it gives me something to look forward to! this has helped tremendously!

Hi i just started an affair with the elliptical machine at my local gym too and came searching online to get motivation from others who have success stories to tell. Like you, I couldn't even do 5 mins...but now I've just built up to the 30-35 min range and am looking forward to more build up. Thanks for sharing your story, it's uplifting to me and makes me want to keep up what i've been doing. It's great when my coworkers tell me that my clothes are too baggy and big!! :)

I’m doing elliptical for 60 minutes nearly every single day, sometimes 120 minutes, since I am 59kg and 168cm, I lose weight slowly, I lost about 2 kg in a month, and I have to lose about 9 kg. Elliptical helps to tone your legs and stomach, just love it!
