In the Western countries research has confirmed that many Indian spices have potent biological activity.

A recent study shows that capsaicin a compound that makes chili pepper hot ,actively fight cancer of pancreas,one of the most aggressive cancer,by triggering triggering cancer cells to self destruction.

In a separate study done for turmeric ,and other curry powder it was found that curcumin present in them was found to block a key biological pathway needed for the development of melanoma and other cancers .
