Importance of mineral salts
Mineral salts regulate the metabolism of the body. Some of them are components of enzymes, pigments and structural parts. We obtain most of our mineral requirements from our diet. Some minerals like calcium, phosphorus and sodium are needed in fairly large amounts, while others like iodine and iron are only needed in small amounts.
A lack of necessary mineral salts leads to ill health and deficiency disease.

sodium, chlorine, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, iodine and fluorine.

An important component of blood plasma; maintains the correct osmotic pressure of body fluids; needed in the transmission of nerve impulses and for normal cell membrane permeability. It can be gotten from salts and natural foods especially meat, milk and eggs.

A major component of bones and teeth. Needed for clotting of blood, proper functioning of the heart and nervous system, and normal contraction of muscles. It can be gotten from milk, cheese, eggs, green vegetables and almonds.
