Mudras, The Easiest Way to Keep Our Good Health!

In today's hassle and stressful world we everyone need to keep our good health to lead a long happy and enjoyable life. Mudras are ones which will be helpful to get good health easily preventing many diseases at no cost. These are nothing but ritual and symbolic gestures followed in religions like Hinduism and Buddhism. Usually mudras involve different positions of body, arms, hands and fingers. These things are also followed in classical dances such as Bharatanatyam and Mohininatyam.

Let us discuss about some mudras that can be performed by different finger positions. Generally the right hand will be used for doing mudras and sometimes left hand also used. This type of mudras are so easy that any age group of people including children can follow them. We can follow them whenever we find some time in our daily works and there is no suggested time duration for performing mudras. We can do them for any desired amount of time (i.e.) 5 minutes to 15 minutes

Diseases That Can Be Cured by Mudras

Indeed mudras performed by fingers are helpful to control and cure many diseases. Whenever people cross the age of 40 years, they may often meet many health problems including lack of concentration and memory power, indigestion problems, cold, fatigue, body pain, obesity, stress, hypertension, diabetes, anaemia and heart problems. There are many different mudras which are powerful to cure different diseases. For eg. Surya Mudra is powerful to reduce cholesterol in our body and helps reducing obesity and anxiety. The other Apana Vayu Mudra is so powerful that it can strengthen our heart and regulate palpitation. It works like an injection to reduce the chances of getting heart attack. Similarly we can do different mudras to control various health problems.

Gyan Mudra - Mudra of Knowledge

Bend your index finger and let the tip of thumb and the tip of index index finger touch each other and other three fingers stretched out. Being mudra of knowledge it enhances the knowledge. The tip of thumb is associated with the glands like pituitary and endocrine and when it is pressed with the tip of index finger, the two glands will start to work properly. It also helps increasing memory power as it sharpens our brain. It'll be useful to come out of psychological disorders like Mental, Hysteria, Anger and Depression. There is no particular time duration for doing this mudra and you can do this daily whenever you find some time

Prithvi Mudra

Prithvi Mudra - Mudra of Earth

In this type of mudra the tip of ring finger touches the tip of thumb with the other three fingers stretched out. This is very useful to overcome physical weakness and skin problems. There is no particular time duration for performing this mudra. We can do this as many times as we can at any time.

Varuna Mudra

Varuna Mudra - Mudra of Water

Let the tips of little finger and thumb touch each other and other three fingers stretched out. It will be helpful to balance water content inside our body and avoid all the diseases which may cause due to lack of water. It also helps to get relief from the pains of Gastroenteritis and Muscle Shrinkage.

Vayu Mudra

Vayu Mudra - Mudra of Air

It can be performed bending index finger and pressing it with thumb and keeping other fingers straight. It'll be helpful to cure all the diseases associated with the imbalance of air in our body. Doing this mudra for at least 30 to 40 minutes will find good result for gastric problems. It also cures Arthritis, Rhuematism and Gastric disorders without need of any other medicines

Shunya Mudra

Shunya Mudra - Mudra of Emptiness

It is performed by bending middle finger and pressing it with thumb. Keep the other fingers straight. It will be helpful to overcome dullness. One can do it at least for 40 to 60 minutes to get cured from the disease. It will be helpful to get relief from earache and also acts as an effective treatment for deaf and mentally challenged people.

Surya Mudra

Surya Mudra - Mudra of the Sun

It is done by bending ring finger and pressing it with thumb and keeping other fingers straight. It is useful to regulate thyroid gland. One can do it for at least 5 to 15 minutes twice daily. It is so powerul to reduce our overweight that it can reduce cholestrol in our body. It also corrects anxiety and indigestion problems.

Prana Mudra

Prana Mudra - Mudra of Life

Bend the ring and little fingers and let the tips of them touch the tip of thumb and keep the other two fingers stretched out. As its name implies we can get increased immunity power in our life doing this mudra. It helps to reduce clamps in blood vessels. It's also powerful in curing eye related diseases and correcting fatigue on account of vitamin deficiency. No specific time duration for performing this mudra. You can do this as long as you like.

Apana Mudra

Apana Mudra - Mudra of Digestion

In this mudra tips of middle and ring fingers touch the tip of thumb while other two fingers stretched out. Daily practice for at least 30 minutes will be enough to overcome digestion problem. Diabetes, Diabetes Obesity, Constipation Problem and Piles can be controlled doing this mudra regularly in our life.

Apana Vayu Mudra

Apana Vayu Mudra - Mudra of Heart

The tips of ring and middle finger touch the tip of thumb and the index finger touches the base of thumb with the little finger stretched out. It will work for our heart like an injection and reduces the chances of getting heart attack. It helps to strengthen our heart and regulate palpitation. It also help regulating exretory system and reducing gastric problem. Any one can practice as many times as he or she can. Practice for 15 minutes will be enough to get rid of hypertension.

Linga Mudra

Linga Mudra - Mudra of Heat

It can be performed by interlocking the fingers of both hands and keeping the thumb of left hand vertically straight. Encircle the left hand thumb with the thumb and index finger of right hand. As its name implies, it can generate heat inside our body. We can practice it any time we want to do it. But, it's better to avoid doing it for many times as we may need to balance the generated heat with the adequate intaking of milk, ghee and fruit juices. It helps to overcome lungs problem, cold, cough and bronchial infections.

Dear Nicks, Thank you for reading this! Yes, callisthenics is also a kind body exercise. But, in this case we just need to change only the position of fingers while in callisthenics we need to change the position whole body.
