My Amazing Health Regime for 2010

Today is the last day of 2009 and I have drawn up my Health plan for the New Year to make me healthier. Feel free to practice my tips, but don’t be upset if you don’t get the desired results, as what works for me might not work for you.

.

8 Simple Tips

Stairs - From now on I will no longer be taking the lift at work to the first floor. I have decided it’s time to take the stairs.

Sugar - Usually, I have three sugars in my tea. This will now be reduced to one and a half. Maybe in 2011, I could have it with no milk.

Choccy’s - Cut down on Chocolate. If I feel the need to have chocolate, I’ll visualise myself eating it and enjoying it. If this doesn’t work. Plan B is to have a hypnotising session to make me hate chocolate. This was a suggestion from one of the Hubbers – Artofmagick, after reading the question I posted.

Answers to my question

.

Keeping Fit - Watch Keep-fit exercises. I’d like to emphasise that I will not be doing the exercise along with the person. I think just watching them do the exercise will help me keep fit and burn some calories. Hard for me to explain in this Hub. It’s a "science" thing.

Bedtime - Sleep a little earlier than midnight, so I wake up refreshed in the morning. Sometimes, I’m in HP Forums at night and keep on saying to myself “10 more minutes and I’ll log off”. After 10 minutes, again I say “10 more minutes” until one hour’s gone.

Spare Ribs

Takeaways - Cut down on my Favourite Chinese Takeaways. On Fridays, I normally buy 2 dishes at my Chinese restaurant. One is Special Fried Rice, the other Barbecue Spare Ribs. Mama mia! They taste so nice. Well now, I’ll just have Special Fried Rice and a big Spare Rib. Note the difference from Ribs to Rib. I think that’s a significant difference.

Treats - I must treat myself daily. Anything from the list below. After a long day at work, it’s always nice to have something to look forward to.

My list of Daily Treats

Oh, Nearly forgot. Wine - As it’s the New Year in a few hours. No more Lambrini. From now on it’s Red Wine. It has been proven to be healthy, sort of like a Tonic. Maybe, I’ll make it a daily dose. I might even write a Hub about the benefits of Red Wine, after I've had a few glasses.

So, there’s my Health Regime. Wish me luck.

Cheers Everyone – Happy New Year.

nice. may I suggest instead of just halving your sugar in coffee, switch to Splenda or a Stevia derivative.

OK, now you definitely have to write a Hub about the "keeping fit" thing. I want to learn the science too! Chocolate and red wine is a great pairing also. Have a prosperous 2010.

PEACE!

I too have several exercise videos that I have WATCHED over the years. They're really good too. I did not, however, apply the "science thing," so NO CALORIES were burned! : )

You mean I've been doing it all wrong, trying to do the exercises with the trainer, I'll just have to try your way. But if that is your picture, what are you doing trying to lose weight. From what I see it seems that you are a nice size. I, on the other hand need desperately to lose weight, and I plan to just that. I'll certainly apply some of your tips. Thanks Lady_E, very much for leaving us these tips.

Lady E, you read my mind, I've come up with similar resolutions, just been watching a Penny Lancaster fitness video, just watching at this stage, next week will start doing it. When I grow up I want long legs like hers.

Lol, very good hub Lady. Red wine is very good, but do not count on me for hypnosis to quit eating chocolate. I can't teach what I can't do. :)

Watch exercise videos? Not sure how that will help you but I do wish you the best with all of these. I have been trying to cut out chocolate for a while I have learned to just say no to myself and walk away but it is hard especially after a nice arguement with my husband.

I have a glass of red wine occasionally. Never craved chocolate, but I link the little Andes thin mints. My problem is, I like salt. I've done a little better with abstaining, but I am ready to go for a sodium-laced glass of Campbell's tomato juice or their soups any time.

Good luck with your fitness goals! I've got a few of my own to work on (besides cutting back on salt)......

Nice article Lady E. As for the chocolate part, I have been dieting for a year, and have lost 31 pounds through good nutrition and exercise. My thoughts on the chocolate part are this, sometimes for piece of mind you have to have that indulgence. Don't wait for days or weeks when all you can think about is chocolate. Have it when you crave it and you will eat less than if you wait. I call it cheating small. I am only a couple of pounds from my goal and have cheating for my piece of mind. I think it helps with the whole dieting process. I started at 151 pounds and am now at 120 and I am 4 foot 10 inches tall. So 151 pounds was way way to much.

** Hi Mpurcell, I admire you. Your so disciplined. lol

Best Wishes. :)

** Hi Mike - I understand the salt thing. I've a bad habit of putting maggi sauce on my food even if there's enough salt in it. Good luck with your fitness goals too. Regards :)

** Hello Fishtiger - Well done on losing all those pounds. Excellent. I like your plan. "Have it when you crave it and you will eat less than if you wait." Cheers to a healthy 2010.

Lady e Hello my hp angel. I have a couple health tips. I am thin so I am working on Buffing up. That means less computer and more weights. I do not set resolutions because I break them then beat myself up. I try to do better. So far I have availed little. THE GOOD news is our Lord has Blessed me so much in 2010 I have had some amazing, on time Miracles.

Today I am waling to the Gym like 1/2 block from me. I am using the weights. There is much work I need to do on me. You my friend will do your goals. Just walk WITH Jesus AND i KNOW YOU WILL GET IT DONE. look AT HOW YOU GREW IN 2009 IN YOUR WRITING. i am so proud of you. I Love you and I thank you for standing by me and encouraging me with your gift of writing and your loving Spirit. You touch many lives. One DAY WE will go on a book signing together. For reals.

I love your hub Lady_E. Just thinking of trying to be healthy is the first step to being healthy, and since you have resolved to do that, I think you are on the road to success.

I may come back to purchase one, or two, of the fitness DVDs. Thanks for the encouragement.

I don't put sugar in anything (not in cooking, not in coffee, and not in tea). In fact I have no idea where the sugar is in my house (I don't think I have any). There is already too much sugar already put in by the manufacturers of the food we buy. No need to add more ourselves. :)

Wow, you are very disciplined with sugar. I can't live without it. Thanks for stopping.

I made a few NY resolutions, and already i have been remiss by not doing anything so far. I must, i must, i must! Thanks for the tips, esp about using sugar (it will be honey instead). I too will walk more, avoid greasy Chinese food, but, I don't know if i will ever give up chocolate. Good luck on yours!
