Many people are beginning to accept pole dancing as a healthy way of working out. Pole dancing has become a popular form of exercise in recent years. But its origin has gone way back in the 1920s, or probably earlier than that. It has been around in many guises. Some people attribute pole dancing to one of many circus acts. But most of us know this to be the dance routine shown in most strip clubs.
Before the 80s, pole dancing was not eye-catching and is mostly done by men. During the 80s and 90s however, it has been known as a form of striptease or exotic dancing that is more suitable and attractive when performed by women, preferably sexy women. At present, there are pole dance classes for anyone who is interested in learning its moves. Many people are acknowledging its health benefits. It can give you a total body workout. You can achieve both an aerobic or anaerobic type of workout using the pole.
Pole dancing is a combination of dancing, gymnastics, and acrobatic movements using the pole as a dancing prop or equipment. Dancers hold on to the pole to do their stunts and moves. This type of exercise demands a lot of body strength from you; from your wrists, hands and legs for firm grip, and strong core for strength.
Comfortable clothing is recommended in every exercise you choose, including pole dancing. However, for more advanced pole dancers, clothing where your arms and legs are exposed is a better choice. Sexiness aside, you’d need a good grip on the pole when you do difficult stunts and your bare skin can give a better grip than any clothing. Pole dancing can be dangerous when you’re not careful so do take some safety precautions before you set off to work on it. It is recommended not to put any lotion or creams on your skin if you are going to work on the pole as they can make your skin slippery and therefore will make it more dangerous for you.
Pole dancing has become a favorite theme in many fictional stories and films lately. While it is a good exercise in real life. In fictional stories however, it is more often associated with stripping, teasing, and love affairs leaving many people, especially women, prejudiced with this type of workout.
