Positive Energy for Dummies
It is possible, like me, you ran across something that piqued your interest in positive thinking, or the law of attraction. There is a lot of information out there, but very little of it will make much sense if you know very little about the topic to begin with. Even then, few books or videos actually cue you on how you can apply it to your own life.
Positive energy, positive thinking, and the law of attraction are not new. They have been around since the beginning of time. Yes, there is a new wave of interest in the topic, but people have been studying and applying what they have learned for literally ages.
I became interested in positive energy after reading the book "Celestine Prophecy". But, more about that later. It doesn't matter how you became interested, the point is; you are. Now to foster and grow that curiosity into a reality. It isn't something that happens overnight, nor will this page alone allow you to master the art. This is a beginning, upon which I will expand and deal with the many different aspects of positive energy. Ok, ready? Here we go.
Building Blocks of Positive Energy
The terms "positive energy", "positive thinking", and "Law of attraction" are often used interchangeably. While they all do deal with the same theories and facts, there are differences. One builds upon the other.
Let's start with positive thinking. In and of itself, it does not provide positive energy. However, it is where many people start on their journey. Repeating mantras, such as "Good things WILL happen in my life" is one way many people begin to incorporate positive thinking, and ultimately, positive energy into their lives.
Making positive statements, however, do little good until one can actually feel the energy as they recite their statements. It comes with determination, belief, and practice.It is important to keep in mind that we are surrounded, especially at first by positive and negative energy. If you are repeating a mantra, but actually feeling that nothing will happen, it won't. After some time, you will begin to feel the positive energy as you repeat the positive statements about yourself and your life. The key is; you must say them, and feel them. Believe them to be true.
When you begin to feel the positive energy along with the positive thinking, you can rest assured you are making real progress. I'm not going to delve too deeply into the Law of Attraction. We can cover that in a following segment. Right now, concentrate on understanding and obtaining positive energy.

Your aura and positive energy
Everyone and everything has an aura. You may not be able to see it (but in time, it is possible), but they are there. You first need to be aware of your own aura. The goal is to make the aura one filled with positive energy. Another goal is to keep negative energy from seeping in.
Auras have seven layers, but right now, at this point, that is not important. Again, it will be covered later in this series. There is an exercise that I did when I first became involved in positive energy that you may find useful. For this exercise, we will focus on concentrating on a light blue aura. Light blue is the color for peacefulness, clarity, communication and intuition. Oddly enough, before I understood the colors of auras, I "saw" a light blue aura when I did my positive energy exercise each night.

Positive energy exercise
This is the exercise I started with at the beginning of my own positive energy journey. I can tell you that I started seeing results almost immediately. Before I explain that, let's get started with the exercise.
A good time to do this is when you are in bed and ready to sleep. It will relax you, and you may even drift off in the middle of it, but that is okay. First, choose your mantra. For me, that first night, it was "positive things will happen in my life". By the second night, I began saying "positive things ARE happening in my life. Begin by believing it is already true.
So, you are saying your affirmation, or mantra. Now, imagine a light blue aura around your body. Imagine it surrounding your entire body surface, front to back, top to bottom. Try to imagine it as being a light blue color. Keep repeating your mantra as you imagine and develop your aura. Believe that this aura attracts good, positive energy and keeps negative energy out.
When I started, it was literally two days before something wonderful happened. I have been a freelance writer for some time now, and I really wanted a big break in my clientele. Two days after I began this exercise, someone contacted me with a huge task that was literally worth a couple thousand dollars. Now, this may or may not happen this fast for you, but it made me a true believer.
The tough part is doing this every day, even if you had a not so great day. Eventually, you will be able to feel the positive energy surrounding you. This is the first goal. It isn't always easy to attain a positive outlook, or to believe that positive things will or are happening in your life. It may take time, but stick with it. I can assure you it is well worth it.
Once you discover the power of positive energy in and of itself, amazing things can begin to happen. Start by doing this one simple exercise each night. You CAN have an amazing life, you CAN have positive and wonderful things happen. You just have to work at it, and believe it is possible. That is often the most difficult part for some people.
