Grocery & Shopping Bags (Reusable) Are Hazardous To Your Health!
Reusable Grocery/Shopping Bags: CAUTION!
Do you wash your reusable shopping/grocery bags? A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Arizona and Loma Linda University found that 97% of those surveyed, did not!
Researchers who tested grocery/shopping bags that were used repeatedly without washing, found that 100% of them contained bacteria of some kind. They found that about 50% had coliform bacteria and 12% had Escherichia coli (E. coli).
They also found that bags that contained meat juices which had leaked, and then were stored in the trunk of a car for two hours, had ten times the bacteria content!
The study was funded by the American Chemistry Council.
