Serotonin is a very important monoamine neurotransmitter that is produced from L-tryptophan. It is also referred to as 5-hydroxytryptophan or 5-HT in short. · Taking serotonin supplements is another way of helping out the situation. This will greatly raise the amount of serotonin in the body. Tryptophan supplements are able to increase the concentration of the same in the platelets and subsequent cross over to the brain. There are also other important serotonin supplements that are able to directly increase the levels of serotonin. A good example is seronex supplement.
