Sleep deprivation can become a serious problem that effects work and day to day functions. If you suffer from insomnia or any other sleep disorder, then hopefully this article will give you some ideas that will help you relax and get a better nights sleep.   • It is very common for a person who has not had enough rest to lash out at others and feel upset about the smallest things. Getting irritated easily is a good indication that you are not getting enough sleep.

So now you understand some of the main causes related to sleep disorders such as insomnia but what can you do to get more rest? Here are a few tips to help you sleep.

  1. Stay away from sugar and alchoholic beverages during the night
  2. Try to go to bed at the same time each day
  3. Meditation and stretching before sleep
  4. Only hit the sack when tired. Avoid tv and games before bedtime
  5. Less time in bed to make yourself more tired the following day

Medication

If you would consider getting prescribed medication for the treatment of your sleep disorder, here is a list of the most common for those who are sleep deprived. These medications should only be taken if prescibed by your doctor. Also only take them right before planning to sleep as most of these will cause extreme drowziness and slower reaction times. Stay away from driving or doing anything that requires heavy concentration.

Natural Remedies

People who suffer from the condition "sleep apnea" often go very long periods while sleeping without taking a breath. Obstructive Sleep Apnea (osa) is a blockage in the nasal passage obstructing proper breathing. Sleep apnea is a very common problem and can stike any persons from adults to children.
