Some Tips for Mouth Ulcers

Reasons for Mouth Ulcers

Ayurveda states that the saliva in the mouth acts as a lubricant and helps in maintaining the pH levels there. One of the functions of saliva is to help prevent formation of sores on tongue, palates, throat and gums. It protects the mouth from the ill effects of excessively hot, sour, or cold stuffs that we eat

Just as external water sources get depleted during summer, there is a depletion of fluids in our body due to both external and internal 'heat'. (Ayurveda states that your body gets 'heated' up internally due to lack of sleep, excessive intake of non-vegetarian food, alcohol, excessive indulgence in sex, uncontrollable anger etc). This heat reduces the quantity and quality of the body fluids necessary to maintain the thermal stability of the body. The quantity and quality of saliva too suffers.
