Stepmother by DT

Stepmother

Thank you for trying,

Thank you for giving us a chance,

Thanks for fighting,

Thanks for taking a stand,

Thank you for bringing us,

To this beautiful land,

We're sorry that you never got

To see your son grow,

To be a man,

For cancer stole your plan,

But if we can turn back the hands of time,

It would be us, not God, holding your hand, (C)

Cancer

Like a thief in the night,

So you came into our life,

And robbed us of the only love we

had left,

From her uterus to her breast,

Your ignorance you nest,

Onto this angel once blessed,

And stayed there,

'til she was put to rest,

A child of God manifest,

Only to be destroyed by society's,

Angel of Death,

CANCER. (C)

Brother's love

Dear James my kid brother

You know i feel your pain,

Your mother was stolen from you,

At an early age,

God's angel she was claimed

A woman of love,

Pure and divine,

Cut short in life before her time,

But all God's angel,

Have their place,

On both heaven and earth,

From the ashes so must we return to the earth (C)

This is so deeply moving in two ways, my dear. First, it is a lovely poem, beautifully crafted & sincere. Second, it is a gorgeous tribute to your stepmother.

My life work is to help stepmothers to create a beautiful, peaceful, loving, happy life with their primary partners & stepchildren.

So often I see a disconnect, resistance, & animosity between the parties who seek my help through my columns, sites, & books.

To see a loving tribute to your stepmother that celebrates the harmonious, deeply loving bond that you shared is a golden beam of sunshine in the middle of my afternoon.

Thank you a thousand times for sharing your poetry with all of us here on HubPages.

Warm regards...C.E. Grant

Sometimes we all need to have a good cry but then we can turn them tears into a smile and remember all the good things we miss about our loved ones gone. May they rest in peace...And may you be at peace in your heart, soul and every step along the way. Peace my friend
