My journey after Daily Meditation

By practice of meditation daily, I was more calmer & confident, happy than ever. My belief on ancient meditation techniques, yoga. pranayama started growing than ever. Life was taking a different turn. Life started becoming more beautiful. I can feel depression or stress or fatigue started reducing quicker.

There was a change in my attitude. I was happy helping people. I could see beauty in the nature, I can feel the breeze. I can hear singing birds, I can feel more closer to nature than before. I am more focused in what I am doing.

Now every morning is a happy energetic morning for me. There is much more to do in whole day. After meditation for half an hour in morning I am charged to take challenges. This was a positive shift.

Now I wanted something more. I wanted to experience something higher than this now.

Breathing and Sudarshan Kriya

He was also happy & said come let us try something new. Something more powerful & easy to practice. It has lot to do with Pranayama (Breathing techniques). Then he told me how our life and breath are to each other. How are the emotions and breathing patterns related . How can we control our life if we control breathing. He spoke about the clarity of thoughts & it's relation with breathing etc.

He went on explaining about breathing technique without leaving scope for waiting more. Finally he told me this is a powerful breathing technique called "Sudarshan Kriya".

What is Sudarshan Kriya?

After his explanations I am excited to know more what is Sudarshan Kriya? And I went to first source Google & I searched on it about it.

I found many things which I wanted to experience. There were many videos on experiences of people about Sudarshan Kriya. How they are much much better after practicing this technique. There were some not so good things also around this topic. I was curious to know about that too. But I could find any valid proofs to the points made by critics about the Sudarshan Kriya.

I wanted some scientific proofs about this techniques. I found some research papers on sudarshan Kriya. I am impressed with this Study from Harvard on Sudarshan kriya. I checked news about Sudarshan Kriya, it's Founder, about technique & other possible things. I kept reading more and more about Sudarshan Kriya to quench my thirsty brain.

Sudarshan Kriya taught in prisons, to soldiers on wars, trauma relief camps etc. This is a technique for almost all. So finally I decided to register for this course.

I Learn Sudarshan Kriya Procedure

I joined a 3 day Art of Living Happiness Program. There were different processes, exercises, Meditations. Some talks about how to live, singing (satsang) & all. It was a nice time. I could feel better than ever.

I liked the meditation more, especially guided meditations. Finally the day came when I was going to do my first ever Sudarshan Kriya.

First we did some yoga and pranayama. Then started actual Kriya counts in Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's voice. It was a different experience. I was breathing with the counts & I could feel the difference.

After almost an hour I was a calm in my mind. No thoughts but real bliss. I was experiencing happiness. & a feeling many folds the joy I get than meditation.

I felt I took the best decision of learning this nice technique Sudarshan Kriya.

Sudarshan Kriya Tips for Beginners

It is good to follow some of the tips below for better results of Sudarshan Kriya. This also makes you feel better after Sudarshan Kriya Practice

  1. Practice Sudarshan Kriya every day in Morning before you eat anything. Do it with empty stomach.
  2. Choose a comfortable place where you can get fresh air & quiet place in your home. A place in nature where none will disturb you during your practice.
  3. Drink lot of water after kriya.
  4. If you do aerobics or go to Gym do Sudarshan kriya after that.
  5. If you want to do chanting or meditation you can do once you finish kriya.
  6. Try to finish Sudarshan Kriya in one go avoid breaks.
  7. Do as much as possible don't stretch yourself a lot.

Now I am practicing Sudarshan Kriya daily. It is a good & better experience. On every Sunday Art of Living Volunteers arrange follow ups in my locality. I go for those followups. It is rejuvenating experience every time I do Kriya.

Yes I found a nice thing which I was searching. I am thankful to my friend for suggesting this technique to me. Breathing is powerful. Sudarshan Kriya Pranayama reduces the imbalance in mind-body, reduces stress. Discontent mind set and works like a password for relaxation.

We keep on searching for happiness around and we don't realize it is in us. Sudarshan Kriya makes a shift in attitude & makes me feel positive. I am happy.

Maha Sudarshan Kriya & Followup

I recently heard about "Maha Sudarshan Kriya". Sri Sri Ravi Shankar himself guides in person to large gathering of people. Maha Sudarshan kriya happens on some auspicious days. Generally on Maha Shivaratri, Navaratri or Mega Satsang. This seems to be an awesome experience many people doing Kriya at the same time. Next I am waiting to attend one Maha Sudarshan Kriya with Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

Hi Vicky apologize for such a late reply.

I meditate after doing Sudarshan Kriya but sometimes I lie down too, for 15-20 minutes. I do not sleep but take short Yoga Nidra.

But after weekly long Kriya in Group I always prefer lie down as it gives me proper relaxation.
