"Super Vitamin C Has Life Saving Benefits"

Vitamin c,has essential benefits according to Denise Mortimer;

Vitamin C is one of the most important vitamins involved in physiology and, since it is vital for the integrity of cells; it needed by every tissue in the body. it is like B vitamin, water soluble and for this reason our bodies are unable to store it; adequate quantities must be provided on a daily basis - our main sources of the vitamin C , is in the diet of green vegetables, fruit and the juices,tomatoes, and potatoes. However, the ascorbic acid content varies widely depending on the season; their botanical variety ,and the degree of freshness. For example, while potatoes from an October- December crop may contain as much as 19Mg's/100Mg's, those from a March -May crop may contain only 8Mg's/100Mg's. In addiction, vitamins C is readily lost from foods, particularly if they have been stored for long periods of time, boiled, processed or left exposed to the air. The activity of the Vitamin C is always destroyed by oxygen, metal, alkali's, heat, or light. It's always important to eat fresh vegetables and fruits as quickly as possible, after picking and preparing them.

Anyone that takes contraceptive pills or aspirin, who smokes, is stressed suffers from infections or who drink alcohol regularly will have increased need of vitamin C. smokers who drink a lot of alcohol, especially if they drink and smoke, should take at-least 400 Mg's per day above normal doses. Carbon monoxide, and fumes from cars is able to destroy vitamin C rapidly, anyone working or living in a polluted area will need to increase the vitamin C dosages to counteract free radicals. Vitamin C act as an antioxidand  such as vitamin E, beta carotene, and selenium. It also increase the absorption of iron and decreases the absorption of copper.

Hey there, I'm glad to see you promoting the wonderful Vitamin C. Good hub!

I just have one quick addition to make: Vitamin C also aids the liver during the First Phase of Detoxification.

creativone59: excellent hub. My knowledge of vitamin C = orange. I'm shocked at even the season a vegetable is grown will lower the content. This one is getting bookmarked. Have a blessed weekend...and TGIF!!!

Great info and it is so true! Vitamin C is one of those things we just seem to 'forget' about until we're already sick or getting there! Good topic as we head into the worst of the flu season, too.

My dad to was always a vitamin taker he is 80 and I swear he gets younger every year!

Myself if I get a cold,which is seldom,I take anywhere from 20 to 25,000 mg over the day and wipe it out,in a day or two.

I love vitamin c. Everyone should take it

Good Hub. Great information.

My Dad was way ahead of his time. He was a big proponent of Vitamin C back in the sixties. I still take a thousand milligram tablet every day.
