The Best Life Diet by Bob Greene

Bob Greene (yes that's Oprah's personal trainer) has recently updated his very popular The Best Life Diet book in which he helps America (and the world) to lose weight.

I actually enjoyed this very realistic weight loss book not only because Bob Greene admits that losing weight is hard (thank you) but he writes in a way that you feel inspired to make changes in your life for the better.

The plan itself is divided up into three phases so that you are not radically changing your lifestyle and diet in one hit.

The first phase is about changing a few habits such as replacing snacks with healthier options and also gently starts you off with some basic exercises to get you used to it.

The second phase is about eliminating the 'bad' foods, one at a time from your diet. This was actually are really smart way to do it, because by removing all foods from your diet at once can lead to cravings, so just removing one at a time and gradually moving towards a healthy eating plan really works. Also the exercise portion of the plan is increased in phase two so that you are getting regular daily exercise into your day.

The third phase is more about adopting the plan long term to suit your lifestyle.

You get to see Oprah's 7 day diet diary and there are lots of yummy recipies inside as well.

Overall it's a very healthy and well thought out diet, and while none of the information is new or groundbreaking, it will help you to lead a more healthy lifestyle and lose weight the right way through good eating and exercise.

Who is Bob Greene?

Bob Greene is probably best known for being Oprah's personal trainer.  Born December 8, 1958 he is a certified personal trainer and he studied physical education at the University of Delaware.

He has authored a number of books about weight loss and diet and has appeared numerous times on the Oprah Winfrey show.
