The Endless Fiord

You wield your illness like a sword,

Cutting me to the quick

Nothing is right, face monitored

Yes, yes, I know that you are sick

-----------------------------------------

Your body’s betrayal  tightens the cord

Stranglehold trips the music

Stilts the dance leaving us floored

Yes, yes, I know that you are sick

--------------------------------------------

I am one, many lists on the board

The clock continues to tick

Empathy sees your spirit once soared

Yes, yes, I know that you are sick

--------------------------------------------

Into a vacuum our lives now poured

Trapped in this dangerous slick

Unspeakable pain, an endless fiord

Yes, yes, I know that you are sick

----------------------------------------------

What purpose served,  justice scored

 No stemming another kick

Disease and demons keep lives whorled

Yes, yes, I know that you are sick

-------------------------------------------------

Faithful, you pray, please dear Lord

But anger is my cement

Keeping me whole, pushing toward

Yes, yes, I know that you are sick

They are for each other

Dear epigramman, Your words make my heart soar. I appreciate that although these words are dark, you are so positive in your comments. Much more positive than I feel right now. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support and encouragement. You keep me movin' on.

Dear vietnamvet68, Thank you for acknowledging me as a writer...and qualifying it with your fabulous adjective! It is very validating and I appreciate that more than you know.

This is quite the hub. Done with such passion, it must be a subject close to home for you. Made me have goose bumps, well written and very captivating. Very nice.

Yes, Dear BobbiRant, I am always so glad to read your synopsis...your comments. You get it. As difficult as this journey is for me, I can only imagine my new friend's despair. It's not a good place to be.

Thank you, BobbiRant, for your understanding and kindness.

It's difficult to bear your own cross, much less the cross of another. Thanks again for sharing this.

I am always amazed at how astute this community of writers is. My BFF understands very well, because she is privy to the events in my life that inspire me, but writers seem to be a special breed that are tuned into the subtleties of human emotion. Thank you for your time and attention, pennyofheaven. I appreciate it.
