The Home and Office Candy Calculus Battle

I was watching a movie and eating a few mini candy bars. You know the type, the Halloween candy, those innocent bite-size candy. Snickers, Mr. Goodbar, Milky Way are among them. They often fill our home and office candy dishes or jars for a quick chocolate fix. Being so small, we assume that eating them is safe for any diet-until you do the math.

Eating two pieces of candy every day without exercising comes to 1900 calories in four weeks. If you did this for a year, it is almost 25000 calories. The worse part is you would also gain 7 lbs., just from the two MINI candy bars a day. Think about it.

If that was not bad enough, there is more bad news. Just eating those two little bite size bits of chocolate each day adds around 500 calories to final intake. To burn that off, a 160 lb. person would have to (pick one):

• Walk at 2 mph for 157 minutes
• Dance for 132 minutes
• Golf for 1.5 hrs
• Backpack for 1 hr.
• Run at 8 mph for 30 min.
We are only talking about burning off those calories from the two candy bars you enjoyed. next time, think about it.
