Astaxanthin - Fights aging, inflammation and improves endurance

What is astaxanthin? Astaxanthin is what makes flamingos and salmon pink--the pigment is commercially harvested from the microalga Haematococcus pluvialis, the richest known natural source for ASTAXANTHIN.

There are many health benefits from taking astaxanthin but I'm going to give you what I think are the top five.

1) Protects the brain from dementia and Alzheimer's

2) Greatly reduces inflammation and joint pain

3) Reduces oxidative damage to your DNA by 40%

4) Causes cancer cells to commit suicide

5) Boosts immune function and helps the body resist infections

Another claimed benefit that I find interesting is that taking astaxanthin can help prevent sunburn from over exposure to UV light. You would need to take astaxanthin for a few weeks before it would help prevent sunburns.

Research also shows that taking astaxanthin with a high grade fish or krill oil works best since it's fat soluble.

I've just viewed a video about Krill oil and that krill have a naturally high level in their bodies. Krill oil is relatively expensive but it has a long shelf life (due to the astaxanthin !) So I'm gonna take the cost on the chin and buy so me... This is the link to the video I just viewed on this subject.
