Tired of Cruel Diets? How to Lose Weight and stay Slim!
To those who strive to stay thin and slim and those who wish to be, here are some humble, simple and effortless 20 tips on how to do it recommended by specialists of course.
1- Have one glass of water prior every meal because water will curb your appetite which will make you eat less than normal.
2- Eat slowly and without distraction like TV for example. As many of us are well aware of the fact that the average person needs no more than 15 minutes to get moderately full. Thus, chatting or eating fast won’t help the brain to send the signal that your stomach is full!
3- Do not overload or oversize the food portion in your plate so you won’t be tempted to finish it! So, always use a small plate, and eat in the same place and of course, try to eat while sitting because not doing so will stretch your stomach and lead to a loose belly.
4- Always make sure to include salads in your afternoon meals. Being well known for their great benefits, veggies will help fill your stomach so you won’t feel the need to eat big chunks of fattening food. So, veggies are natural, non-fattening and nutritious replacements.
5- Avoid eating any meal after 7: pm... Eating early gives the body a chance to digest the food and turn it into energy while eating and sleeping, will turn the food into fat which will accumulate layers in time. However, if you felt hungry before bedtime, have a glass of skimmed milk and/ or veggies.
6- Before you go shopping, prepare a list of your needed items only and buy only what you need. This way, you will avoid buying everything you see specially unnecessary things like foods.
7- Do not eat between meals even if you feel hungry. As discussed earlier, veggies are the best substitute when hunger strikes you and if you couldn’t find veggies, have a glass or two of water. Our bodies are pliable if we train them, so train your body to eat in specific times.
8- Try and try again not to leave your house while hungry! This will definitely make you eat anything you see specially junk food which you should seriously avoid!
9- You can have skimmed milk or law fat yogurt anytime you want since they are not fattening and very healthy.
10- Now, people will think that diet means torture because we don’t get to eat what we like and that is not true! You can eat what you like but wisely. Eat small portions and try to minimize your cholesterol, carbs, and sweets intake.
11- Stay away from laxative medicines or what’s known as herbal tea or appetite medicines because as the names suggest, they are good stimulators of hunger and that’s the last thing we need here!
12- If you like and crave for sweets, eat them after your meals directly not long before not long after. Eating sweets after food will neutralize the effect and lessen the absorption of sugar.
13- Do not eat more than one egg daily (3-4 weekly). Have skimmed milk and yogurt everyday to provide your body with the necessary protein. It’s also important to eat fish at least twice a week instead of meat because it helps burn calories.
14- Focus on grilled or boiled food and use all kinds of spices, fresh mint, fresh pepper, parsley, garlic…etc in your meals. You should also add one big spoonful of olive oil to your meals everyday.
15- Avoid too much rice, white bread, chocolate, tatoes and deep-fried food. These things will increase your weight dramatically before you know it!
16- Teaming up! Get a friend of yours or a neighbor and convince them to start a systematic diet with you. This will encourage both of you and make you feel that you’re not alone. You can also exchange tips, recipes and various daily information.
17- Don’t attempt to calculate how many calories or how much carbs does this or that contain because you’re the only one who can control your mind and your healthy choices not the other way around. Focus on healthy non-fattening food and ignore the “Nutrition Facts”.
18- The most important thing, don’t weigh yourself everyday or whenever you see a weighing scale because this is not good for yourself-confidence since the results will not appear overnight! It’s enough to check your weight progress every ten days using your personal scale only.
19- For sure, simple and continuous work out like jogging, walking or doing mere home chores are efficient ways to lose weight and is in a way better than signing up in a gym to get bored and quit later.
20- Remember, the journey of a thousand miles starts with one step so do not try too hard or wish for the impossible like losing ten kilos in a week! Be patient and make your target simple and rational enough. Just don’t lose hope!
