Motivating oneself to do better, to follow our dreams to achieve our goals, seems to me, to be one of our main tasks in life.
Many do not have supportive family or people in thier life which makes it all the harder. But whether we do or don't it really needs to come from deep inside us.
This poem was written one day, when I was trying to fight my depression, and take a stand for myself and push myself, tell myself I can do more!! It's really not easy when one is depressed and takes tremendous courage and discipline to "stay above water" and not give into the "evil" depression.
This hub and poem is a shout out to those everywhere......who need a boost. I hope it helps!
“I’m really sick and tired
Of you using all kinds of excuses
Going through life with all these abuses
That you imagine
But it’s you
Please wake up!
You have so much positivity to give and talents
Which you have been given by God- so many beautiful things to share:
Your laughter, beauty, joy, and you CARE!
I will NOT let you
Stay in bed
I will NOT let you
Say “I’m tired”, “I’m weak and”I’m undesired”
(Because you’re not!)
No more excuses!
Get up and meet the day-start the morning and pray
I know you’ve always hated mornings but those days are in the past
Your life cannot keep a’wastin
You know you can do it, I know you can!
I’m so proud of you for all that you’ve done so far;
You’ve conquered many mountains; This perhaps your biggest one of all
You CAN do it, don’t feel small!
I believe in YOU- You’ve always believed in me!
I love you so much!”
