To Myself!

Motivating oneself to do better, to follow our dreams to achieve our goals, seems to me, to be one of our main tasks in life.

Many do not have supportive family or people in thier life which makes it all the harder.  But whether we do or don't it really needs to come from deep inside us.

This poem was written one day, when I was trying to fight my depression, and take a stand for myself and push myself, tell myself I can do more!!  It's really not easy when one is depressed and takes tremendous courage and discipline to "stay above water" and not give into the "evil" depression.

This hub and poem is a shout out to those everywhere......who need a boost.  I hope it helps!

To Myself

“I’m really sick and tired

Of you using all kinds of excuses

Going through life with all these abuses

That you imagine

But it’s you

You’re lazy

Get busy!

Please wake up!

You have so much positivity to give and talents

Which you have been given by God- so many beautiful things to share:

Your laughter, beauty, joy, and you CARE!

I will NOT let you

Stay in bed

Any longer

I will NOT let you

Say “I’m tired”, “I’m weak and”I’m undesired”

(Because you’re not!)

No more excuses!

Get up and meet the day-start the morning and pray

I know you’ve always hated mornings but those days are in the past

Your life cannot keep a’wastin

You know you can do it, I know you can!

I’m so proud of you for all that you’ve done so far;

You’ve conquered many mountains; This perhaps your biggest one of all

You CAN do it, don’t feel small!

I believe in YOU- You’ve always believed in me!

Love always,

I love you so much!”

schoolgirlforreal, It's truly amazing the number of lame excuses we can come up with to try and ignore, God and giving him the respect and thanks for all he has done and is doing in our lives. I mean it's totally unfair.

Brother Dave.

Yes,Dave, it is. As humans we are weak from original sin.

This is something, I've always wanted to do, to pray and be faithful everyday.

Even the saints said they had 'dark' moments where they couldn't feel God.

And Jesus on the cross cried out "Father, Why hast thou abandoned me"

It's a mystery --will elaborate another time!

Ps, how do you keep reading so many hubs a day?

I often pick stranger's hubs and people I'm fans w/ hubs.

I did get the notices in my email for awhile on new hubs but it was sooo too many!

Cheers :)

I loved this!

This is a great self-motivation technique—and you’ve done so poetically. So many of us share these same feelings, "Why bother? Nothing good ever happens."

We need to pull ourselves up sometimes.

Thanks for sharing,

Very very nice poem.

My friend fear not the LORD thy GOD is with thee. He knows before you were born all the valleys and rivers you'd have to cross before you reach the mountain top.

Take courage and rejoyce in your trials for out of bad sometimes come forth good. We cannot see our future but God can. Yes get up shake the old dust off and come alive once again.

You are in my prayer and i am just an email away if ever you need a shoulder to cry on.

Hi ladyjojo,

You are sunshine on a dreary day. I'm at the library now but I will try to keep your comment on my mind. Thanks!
