Top 7 Paleo Superfoods

The Paleo diet is a very popular diet plan. Did you know the term "Paleo Diet" was the most popular diet search on Google in 2013. In 2014 and in 2015, it was listed as on of the top 5 searched for diet terms on that popular search engine. The Paleo diet has a couple of other names, it is called The Stone Age Diet and the Caveman Diet. It is a lifestyle plan based on the dietary habits of our Paleolithic ancestors. What does it involve? Eating whole foods, staying away from processed, unhealthy meats, sugars, salts, and flours. Alcohol is also on the no-no list along with dairy products, grains, legumes, and starches.

So what can you eat on the Paleo Diet?

This eating plan includes lots of fruits, vegetables, lean meats, and seafood. You can also have healthy fats, nuts and seeds. So are you interested in a healthier life style, the Paleo Diet Plan might just be for you.

Why do people choose this Cave Man diet? For the health benefits that come along with it, of course. The benefits you will see are many and they include:

•Regulating Your Body Weight. (losing pounds if you are overweight, gaining pounds if you are underweight)

•Stabilizing Your Blood Sugar Levels

• Having A Strong, Lean Body

• Establish Healthy Sleep Patterns (that's a big one for me)

•Strong, Young Skin, Teeth, And Hair

•Less Sickness - You Will Be Healthy

• Your Aches And Pains Will Almost Be Gone - Fight Inflammation

• You Will Have Balanced Energy Levels All Day Long

• Reduce The Chances Of Developing Diabetes Or Reverse The Signs Of Type 2 Diabetes You May Be Suffering From Now

On the Paleo Diet plan there are foods that work best to deliver the help your body needs. These foods are full of the nutrients, vitamins, minerals, and proteins your body needs to heal itself and grow strong. We call these foods Superfoods and they are listed below. Make sure you include them often in your Paleo Diet Plan.

Dark Chocolate Is One Of The Superfoods For The Paleo Diet Plan
Dark Chocolate Is One Of The Superfoods For The Paleo Diet Plan

Superfood # 1

1 – Dark Chocolate - Not the sugar filled processed chocolate you are used to. We are talking natural, unprocessed dark chocolate from cocoa. This chocolate is rich in flavoids and antioxidants. Antioxidants are important to your body. They fight free radicals which cause damage to your cells. Cocoa is a good for your heart food and it helps to keep your blood pressure at a normal level. All you would need is 3 or so pieces of dark chocolate that is at least 80% pure. That's enough to help you receive the health benefits to see positive results from this Paleo Superfood.

Superfood # 2

2 – Lean Beef - Grass-fed is best. There are many different types of lean beef. They include bison, goat, and cattle. Bone broth made from these beef animals is going to become a staple in your Paleo diet plan. It's great for making soups and to flavor your meals.

You must be aware of what you are eating. Make sure it's grass-fed or organic beef. These aren't the regular packaged meats you find at your local foodstore, although you can find them there. Just be sure to double check the labels and make sure you are buying what you need. Regular beef is full of antibiotics and hormones, you do not want those products.

Beef is a rich source of protein, omega-3 fatty acids, creatine, and amino acids. You will find these nutrients plentiful in those grass-fed meets.

Blueberries - Paleo Diet Plan Superfood

Superfood # 3

3 – Blueberries - Blueberries are considered by many to be one of the world's healthiest foods. Eat a handful of these delicious berries every day. Did you know they help to treat and prevent problems that arise with age like dementia, Alzheimer's, panic attacks, and even anxiety. Blueberries are also known as a top source for the antioxidants they are rich in. The antioxidants fight those free radicals that cause cell breakdown and aging skin.

Blueberries are one of my favorite fruits, I think they are delicious. These little berries can help to fight off heart disease. They are rich in dietary fiber, potassium and folate. There is also plenty of vitamin B6, manganese, vitamin C and vitamin K. They contain phytonutrients that can positively affect both your mental and your physical health. The blueberry can even help to regulate your cholesterol levels. How many reasons do you need to include this fruit in your diet every day?

Blueberries are sweet, one cup contains about 80 calories and 15 grams of carbs, and they reduce DNA damage and help slow the signs of aging. What more can you ask for?

Coconut Oil Is One Of The Paleo Diet Superfoods

Superfood # 4

4 – Coconut Oil - Make sure you use Organic Virgin Coconut Oil. We have all read the stories touting coconut oil as one of the most beneficial oils you can use. It is easily digested, it is a Superfood for your skin and your hair when you apply it to them regularly. It can fight those bags under your eyes, it can lighten the dark under eye spots too.

The health benefits you will see using coconut oil are:

  • It can battle Alzheimer's disease, epilepsy, and other neurological disorders
  • It will help your body to burn more fat
  • The antiseptic properties will kill harmful bacteria, fungi, and viruses
  • You will feel less hungry
  • Lessen the number of seizures in epileptics
  • Promote healthy cholesterol levels
  • Lowers the risk of heart disease
  • Increase your energy level

Leafy Greens Are Just One Of The Paleo Diet Superfoods

Superfood # 5

5 – Leafy Greens - Leafy green veggies are delicious and healthy if they are eaten raw, steamed, alone or mixed with other foods on your Paleo Diet plan. There are plenty of serving ideas you can look at. Have them in a salad, juice them, cook them. Use choices that are high in magnesium and folic acid like kale, spinach, or mustard greens. Those minerals can help to alleviate anxiety, stress, and even depression.

We all know that leafy greens help to keep your body weight down. They have few carbs and are low in calories. They have a lot of fiber, you feel full when you eat them and they will help you to eat less. These greens are a rich source of vitamin K. This is the vitamin that helps your blood to clot properly. A diet full of these vegetables can help to lower your cholesterol levels too.

Free Range And Organic Eggs A Paleo Diet Superfood

Superfood # 6

6 – Free Range Eggs - These eggs are found along side regular eggs in the food stores but that's where the difference ends. Organic and free range eggs do not contain the antibiotics, hormones, or steroids found in your regular eggs. They are full of Omega 3 fatty acids, amino acids, and vitamin D. Here's the difference in those regular eggs and the free range or organic eggs I am suggesting you eat:

  • They contain two thirds more vitamin A
  • They contain 200% more omega-3 fatty acids
  • They contain 700% more beta-carotene
  • They contain 300% more vitamin E
  • They contain one third less cholesterol
  • They contain one quarter less saturated fat

I don't have to tell you about the many ways there are to cook eggs. You can add them to almost any recipe. Combine them to other food recipes, scramble them, poach them, fry them, hard boil them, make an omelet.

This fatty acid is not made in your body so you have to find sources of it through your food. Wild salmon is your best source.

The farm raised salmon are full of chemicals, antibiotics, and steroids, so be sure to insist on the wild salmon for your meals. Here are the health benefits you can find in the wild salmon:
