Treatment for Dark Underarms and Excessive Sweating
Now that El Nino (prolonged summer season) is devastating the country (Philippines), Filipino families and tourists flock to many popular or even hidden beaches to lessen the effects of said phenomenon. Well, for me, I can always have a quick dip in the early morning at the river bank near my place in the barrio while enjoying to collect fresh water edible shells. But my cousins and friends always invite me to go to the beach for a more enjoyable swim and skin dipping. I don’t want to because I’m getting darker and darker everyday (sun tanned, I think). And I’ve noticed that my underarms are getting darker and I experienced excessive sweating in my arm pits nowadays. Maybe this is because of my exposure to the outdoor activities, like beach hopping, mountain hiking, among others. Really, I am enjoying my vacation, but I am bothered by my arm pits.
Good thing, the health advisory this summer delves on how to treat dark underarms and its excessive sweating. I quickly jotted down the causes and cure of these abnormalities and hoping that fellow hubbers could learn a thing or two if you are experiencing what I am into right now.
Major causes of dark underarms
Armpits have sensitive skin. So if we use bimpo or face towel to rub it if you’re taking a bath, then it will surely darken. Some of the things that triggered the darkened arm pits are the following:
1.Pregnancy contributes to dark underarms among mothers due to the high estrogen level.
2.Friction when you rub the towel (like I wrote above)
3. Shaving and plucking irritate the skin of under arms.
4. Deodorant and anti-perspirant contribute to the darkening of the armpits due to the aluminum fluoride present in these commercial products.
5. Dead skin buildup
There are three kinds of treatment that you can avail in a beauty clinic. According to Vicky Belo, MD, a popular cosmetic surgeon and beauty expert, these procedures are affordable and are being used to prolong the effects on whitening underarms.
1) Skin Master uses pressurized oxygen to cure darkened underarms. This is the same with Jet Peel that uses vibration that removes chicken or flaky dead skin that makes underarms darker.
2) Laser Treatment requires five sessions to cure dark armpits.
3) Melanin Treatment is the most affordable treatment for dark underarms. Specially formulated cream will ease your discomfort of having such armpits.
It is uncomfortable to feel my armpits wet all the time. So I always apply tawas (white-crystalline aluminum fluoride stone) or available deodorant. It worsen my discomfort. The traces of wetting can be seen on my shirts or clothes.
Hyperhydrosis or excessive sweating can cause underarm hygiene problem. When we are excited, the muscles and sweat glands ( receptors of the skin) pushes the fluid that makes us sweat. The Department of Health (DOH) explains that perspiration is very important because it releases toxins that are present in our body.
Beauty experts explain that it’s only the armpits that they want to moderate the sweating. By doing it, we will not have a bad smell and will not need of deodorants anymore.
Here’s how to treat excessive sweating in our armpits:
Botox, the method is often associated with facial muscles tightening. It can now be used when treating excessive sweating of the underarms. Sweat receptors of the skin is blocked by botox for six months. The procedure will require only half an hour for the pair of armpits. Cream anesthetic is first applied, then iodine solution to darken the pores to locate the part to be injected with botox solution, and special talcum powder for relief.
Most entertainers (singers, artists, stage performers) always take care of their underarms. Critics notice first your flaws in personal hygiene if you have dark and sweating armpits. Even ordinary women will never wear sleeveless shirts or blouse if they experience having dark underams and excessive sweating.
