Vitamins For Healthy Hair Growth and Hair Care

For healthy hair growth, it is important to have good nutrition from a healthy diet or from a good source of vitamin supplements. Your body needs a variety of minerals and vitamins to maintain the correct functions and it is no different for your hair. Whenever you start with a new vitamin program, it is good to realize that it takes patience to see results, which can usually take 2 to 3 months of consistency. Remember that you should always check with your doctor before starting any diet program, since nutrients are essential to hair growth. There are many vitamins that provide nutrients that are essential for good scalp circulation. Without good circulation, hair will not grow and instead will fall out, regardless of one's age.

Vitamin A, E and Niacin are all good for the scalp by increasing circulation, but over dosage of Vitamin A can serious health problems or hair loss. Those with high blood pressure should consult a physician before taking Vitamin E supplements, because taking too much can raise your blood pressure and reduce your blood's ability to clot. Taking more about 25 mg a day of Niacin can cause a short term heat sensation, due to blood cell dilation.

Biotin and Pantothenic Acid may prevent hair loss and graying. Biotin produces keratin. Hair follicles are kept healthy at the cellular level with Inositol. This vitamin is found in whole grains, brewer's yeast, citrus fruits and liver.

Vitamins B6 and B12 prevent hair loss. Vitamin B6 gives hair its color, but high doses can cause numbness in your feet or hands.

Even if your hair isn't falling out, it's always good to get the vitamins your hair needs to grow and remain healthy.
