Weight Lifting Tips for Losing Weight

Updated on April 11, 2012

There are many ways to lose weight. There are natural diets, pills, and exercise. However, the best way to lose weight is with a combination of them all. A regular exercise that you can stick with will allow you to lose weight faster with the proper diet. When it comes to exercise I’m not talking about a walk around the block, however, every little bit helps. I am talking more about going to the gym, or if you have your own weight lifting regimen.

The reason I am stressing weight lifting is that it enables people to burn more body fat and build lean muscle a lot quicker than with just a dieting. This is not just for men, woman too should have a regular weight lifting routine to help them become in better shape.

It is not about becoming or trying to look like a world weight lifting champion. It is about becoming healthier with a consistent exercise and muscle building routine. If, you get in the habit of going to the gym and lifting weights once or twice a week. The results are not that you will gain huge muscles, however, you will look healthier and trimmer. This is one of the best ways to get fit and trim the fat and lose weight quickly.

Cardio workouts also burn a lot of the fat from areas that you are trying to lose weight from quickly. There have been numerous documented studies on the effects of weightlifting on individuals who do so on a regular basis burn more calories. It is estimated that in a twenty four hour period after a weightlifting session individuals can burn up to one hundred more calories. Even while you sleep the workout helps the muscles keep burning while you sleep. So, if you combine a healthy diet with weightlifting you are going to feel and look a lot better in a shorter amount of time.

The keys to weightlifting are that the weights are going to weigh a different amount each time. You want to start off with a good balance of weight that is not too easy and also not too difficult. Then every time you start your work out add a little more weight to it over a period of time. When you are working with weights, it is always best to start with basic repetitions. So, do so at the medium weight a three sets of ten. Then add five pounds then do the same sets of reps. Each time adding a little more weight to your maximum. Do not worry if it gets to heavy that you are only able to do three sets of three this is normal. The idea is to give your body the maximum benefit while you are working out. S, going from lighter to heavier will give your body the workout it is craving.

When you are weightlifting, it is always tempting to work on one part of your body the most. However, you do not want to neglect other parts of your body. As, you do your arms, legs, back and other parts you will see that the uniformity you are giving your body will help you lose the fat faster. So, get in on a healthy diet with a weightlifting program and you will start shedding the pounds like magic.
