And Saturday Came.

This is day 7. Saturday August 8th, 2009. I walked 1/4 of a mile. I consumed 2400 Calories by eating unbalanced portions in the evening. The chef cooked a brined duck. The duck was brined in wine plum sauce for 24 hours. The duck was great. The majority of the day I was escorting my nephew. He was the recipient of a new hair style. He looks great.

Did you know that to maintain a weight of 330 lbs. you need to consume daily between 4290 to 5280 Calories?   Calculations will show that in this hypothetical scenario that if you reduce your daily caloric intake by 1000 Calories your weight would gradually settle between 253 lbs. and 267 lbs.

Theoretically to maintain a weight of 220 lbs. your daily caloric intake would be between 2860-3520 Calories.

What upsets all this precise calculation is the body perceives any sustained daily caloric reduction as starvation and it will reset the amount of calories needed to maintain a particular weight.  Do not get discouraged.  Your will to persist in your behavioral changes, your new friends in the weight loss battle and modest exercise will prevail.
