What Happens to people After Death?

What happens after death
What happens after death

Based on the Holy Quran and Hadith this book throws the light on the good and bad deeds of the person, what they are doing in this mortal world and what recompense they will get after death, the fruits of Paradise or the punishments of the hell.

This hub only takes brief excerpts from this wonderful book and tries to bring to your attention the need to prepare for the life hereafter.

Seldom do any of us go on a trip or a holiday without some planning and arrangement and yet many of us are willing to take this final journey into the cold and lonely place we refer to as the grave without any contemplation of where this journey of solitude into the eternal world will end and what will be the system of bartering or who will provide us the much needed support in the time of need.

In this mortal world when we get into any difficulty it is easy to call a family member or friend for support but when we end up in that dark grave all alone, who will provide us the shoulder to rest on and the hand to guide us in that time of isolation.

The Holy Quran states clearly:

Every Soul must taste death!
Every Soul must taste death!

Belief in life after death is an important article of Islamic Faith. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) has directed Muslims to believe in resurrection after death and in the Day of Judgement. Believers in Islam, Christianity and Judaism have to believe that the life in this temporal world and all that is in it will come to an end on an appointed day. Everything will be destroyed, that day is called Qiyamah or the Last Day.

For many who have strayed away from faith in Allah (God) or are misled into accepting that there is no life after death will most profoundly deny that there is something beyond death as accepting death, the life after death and the Judgement Day means to accept that one is answerable for his or her actions in this life and will be judged by the Almighty Allah. The mere fact of being answerable to the Creator on the Day of Judgement submits a person to humble oneself to the Almighty God.

The following video is a lecture on this topic of Death:

The Afterlife - Hamza Yusuf

The above is only part of the whole lecture, to listen to the complete lecture view the following video:

On the day of Qiyamah all the human beings will be restored to life and they will be presented before Almighty Allah Who will sit in judgement on that day, this is called Hashar or resurrection.

The entire record of every man and woman will be compiled for this day. Everything that one does in this life is being recorded by two angels this record will be presented before Allah for the final judgement. Those that excel in goodness and had observed the message while in this mortal world will be rewarded, for those whose evils and wrong outweigh his or her good deeds will be punished.

The successful people on the day of judgement will go to Paradise and the doors of eternal bliss will be opened to them; those who are condemned and deserve punishment will be sent to Hell.

If you reflect and think deeply about life and death you will come to the conclusion that belief in life after death is the most crucial factor in the life of a person. Its acceptance or rejection determines the very course of his or her life and behaviour.

I know some people will throw up many excuses as to why they don’t need to believe in death and the hereafter to be a good person I totally agree that you don’t have to believe in order to be a good person. All I ask as a well-wisher is that you do some reading on this topic and religions in general – death and beyond is an important topic one that well afflict us all, you owe to yourself to prepare well for that final transition of soul from the world of living to the world of dead.

For those who after reading this hub decide that they still don’t think there is life after death, nothing new in that millions before you did not accept it and many more millions after you will not believe that the Angel of Death will come to them one day and the fear of death will overtake their world in that time when no one but Allah (God) can help to alleviate the pangs of death, it will be too late to plan for the eternal journey!
