ZUMBA - My Experience

Loads of fun

I have tried different kinds of work out during my life. Nothing has caught my attention and interest as much as Zumba Fitness®. ZUMBA® is a great way to start exercising if you want to listen to good music and have fun while you are working out. Zumba is like dancing but without worrying about the steps. You will get it right adventually if you just relax, listen to the music, move your hips and have fun! The steps are mostly very basic and you can do your zumba to different kinds of music like salsa zumba or hip hop zumba. Latino music is the most common music used by zumba instructors, but I have even seen people doing zumba fitness to country music.

After a few zumba classes myself, I was stuck in the zumba trap. First when I heard about zumba, it seemed to be a nice way to work out, but I could never imagine that it would be that much fun! With a good instructor and a variety of good music and moves it just blew my mind. I think I'll become an addict soon. Zumba is one of my big interests now and it's a part of my life.

I started my zumba classes six months ago on a could winters Thursday night and I have been there every Thursday night since that. It's just getting better and better. It's so much fun! Zumba is all about having fun in a great dance party atmosphere with many other enthusiastic women. You just need to be there and forget about everything else. After a class you feel very happy and relaxed. That's just what a working and studying mom like me needs.

The fact is, there's not one single man in our class. Where are they? I have watched several zumba videos, and here and there I have seen some men doing zumba workout, but most are women. I'd like to see some change in that, becuase zumba was actually created by a man. His name is Beto Perez, and in the 1990's Beto had forgot to bring the right music to his aerobics class and found some latino music in his car that he put on instead. It was a success. Since then zumba has spread all around the world. Now you can for examlpe buy all kinds of zumba clothes and accessories if you're a real fan of Zumba!

If there isn't any zumba class where you live, you can buy Zumba videoes or games and do some Zumba in front your television at home. I haven't tried that myself, but I'm going to buy Zumba Fitness for Wii and try it out in my living room. I'll just wait for the dark and cold autumn first. Until then I'll dance to zumba rythms outdoors.

I think zumba is for everyone, who want to have fun, sweat a little and feel good. Maybe you could lose some weight too. That's nothing I can guarantee though. If you give it a try, I can promise you zumba loads of fun!

Hi Sunshine625, don't give up! That's what I thought after my first zumba class too, but I tried again and after a couple of times I was stuck. You should try again! I'm glad your daughters love Zumba. :)

I have been trying to get into zumba but because of school and work, I do not have time to visit the gym. I am planning to buy the zumba videos, do you think they would be worth buying?

I haven't had time for Zumba in three months. I considered buying Zumba for my Wii, but never did. Zumba videos are probably better than no Zumba at all. :) In a few days I'll continue my Zumba classes once a week.

Thanks Vinaya. Maybe you should try it. We don't have one single man in our Zumba class.

In your blog, at the end, you said 'Until then I'll dance to zumba rythms outdoors'. Where are outdoor Zumba classes offered? How do I find one? I cannot find one where I live.

jul, where I live the summertime is very short and we spend most of the time outside to enjoy it as much as possible. I get the information about zumba classes in the newspaper and when people invite me on facebook.

...so that is how you maintain your girlish figure .... I maintain my boyish figure by chasing my sexy Sannel around the nude beaches of Sweden - lol lol - just ask her - and she will tell you what I tripped over one day - lol lol

Lol! epi, I'd love to see you running around naked on Swedish beaches. I'm not sure where my girlish figure has gone. It slowly changes.
