On the contrary; I think most people don't see their doctor often enough.
It's a good idea to get a checkup once a year, and most folks don't. Of course, it's silly to see the doctor every time you get a sniffle or stub your toe, but it can be disastrous to ignore a seemingly minor but persistent symptom.
I've heard from doctor friends several stories about people who waited too long to have their particular complaint looked at, and when they finally went to see their doctor, it turned out to be advanced cancer, which if they'd caught it earlier would have been much more easily treatable, but now was terminal, or else required invasive surgery and months of radiation and chemotherapy.
It's better to see your doctor too often than not often enough. There's an old taoist saying: One disease-long life. No disease-short life.
