Step one: don't limit your spending-spend what you want and the bills don't get paid.
Step two: credit cards, by using credit cards you create large debt that is difficult to pay and you increase the amount you need for your budget.
Step three: quit your job and don't get another, this is a no-brainer
Step four: impulse spending, impulse spending can ruin a budget every day of the week.
Step five: after you make a budget, don't follow it
Step six: eat out often, spending money at restaurants (sit down or fast food) instead of buying and cooking at home will ruin even the best budgets
Step seven: buy a new car every year, this will ensure that your budget remains high and is usually impossible to follow
Step eight: buy a bigger house that you don't need, buy real estate that you don't need as well, this ensures that you have way more than you need and the taxes alone will blow your budget wide open (not to mention the mortgage payments)
Step nine: Buy all of the latest gadgets as soon as they hit the market. This ensures that you have the latest and greatest (who cares if it costs more than your job pays)
Step ten: Shop on line often. This guarantees that you buy more than your budget can handle because you don't see the bills until well after the items arrive-be sure you shop for all of the things you want but don't need.
How'd I do?
