   I mostly drink tap water and I'm not worried. We have a municipal water supply here on the Island of Oahu that comes from groundwater aquifers. I'd say it's almost more worrisome to drink water that's been sitting in a plastic bottle.

   I also drink mostly tap water, also from a municipal water system.   Like MichaelWriter, I'd be worried about the water in the plastic bottles.   They're considered safe, and might be, but if they end up in the refuse stream they could eventually be harmful to other sources of water as they break down.   
   Even with recycling, since it's not 100% efficient, there is still typically some waste product along the way.

   Most of the water that you purchase was collected from a local or regional water supply............offered to the public., for a profit.
   
   
   There was a time in southern CA, and a bordering town in AZ, that my "water" looked like milk................after "running the hoses" and pouring several POTS of coffee down the drain..................there was a 'scum' , floating on the top of my coffee carfe......an oily substance..........
   
   During these periods, I even, bought water for my dog to drink?   Here, I was concerned.   The story of Hinkle, CA has become important to me.
   
   It was the very first time that I ever " bought" water........and the last.
   
   Yesterdays, water was not in question...........today, yeah, it is a major inconvience to 'prime the pump'......but the well water is clean..............I long for turning the faucet and, 'dial-a -heat', but, I digress
   
   
   As a girl, I was drawn to the iron in our well water......set aside for the crops......." city water" was for the house!
   
   I never, ever, before, 'tasted' water until an overheated Texas afternoon..............
   
   Water tastes good..............I , often forget that, until, I am thirsty again.
   
   My Grandpa  ( who reared me up ) once told me that the greatest drink he ever took was from a horse's hoove........................the horse step, made an impression into the soil, where the water collected...........
   
   
   No, I do not worry..............
   
   when I thirst.........I drink
   
   Do I have a blind faith in our local, state, or national government?...........NO, I do not, but far too often, I find myself saying....................Man, I forgot how good water tastes!
   
   What does your water "taste" like?
   
   It should be.........clean, refreshing, energizing.....if it is anything less, then , yes you might need to seek info and ask questions.

   I always use a filter on my city tap water.  I have learned that the ph of water is extremely important to our health.  So it isn't just what chemicals may be in the water but also the acidity.  I wrote a hub about it.

   No, I don't worry about the water I drink.  We have a well and the water is great so no need to buy bottled.

   I live in Duabi, so all the water I drink is bottled water. I am a bit worried about the long term effects of bottled water, because they are re-mineralized.

   I try not to worry about the tap water.  Taste is a bigger factor though in my decision to purchase bottled water.

   I try not to worry about it since I drink filtered water. Who knows what is and isn't filtered out though you know? I guess there's too many other things to be worried about so I don't let my drinking water be one of the top items on that list.
   
   I don't buy water. I saw a feature on a news show on TV once talking about one of the bottled water companies selling tap water as spring water. What a rip off that was. Trouble is, how could we know?

    Absolutely.  Store bought water is unregulated, could come from Atlanta tap water for all one knows. Periodically checked well water and commercial water that comes from a natural spring or aqua-filter source only.

    Tap water scares me to death.  Flouridation is great, when injested, but its much more readily absorbed through the skin and causes calcification of the pineal gland.  Elevated levels of flouride in the pineal gland has been linked to aging.

    We need water to drink or else we die. I work in the water industry and wrote a Hub about water in response to another hubber's post about water-

    and possible ingestion of sewage and/or phamaceuticals and yes this can happen in isolated incidents. Drinking water, at least in the U.S. is a highly regulated product derived from a natural resource. The only worry I have is that we as humans mght poison it for future generations.
