I do take vitamins every day, but not just any vitamin. I learned years ago that chemical vitamins from your local drug store are not absorbed or accepted well by most people.
I learned personally that my own body does not break down chemical vitamins when a Doctor prescribed iron for me when I was anemic. I took the iron tablets, which caused constipation, for a month and was retested in the office. I was still anemic and my numbers had not moved up at all. I asked the Doc. if I could take iron made from a whole food source. He answered, "You can, but it won't work." At my next appointment I learned that I was no longer anemic - the whole food supplement had worked!
I believe there is a direct connection between nutrition and health. As healthy as we all try to be .. it is almost impossible to get the recommended servings of colorful fruits and veggies every day. Whole food vitamins give me the assurance that my body is getting the nutrition it needs.
