Is there a need for a colon cleanse ? How does it help?

Do you have any home remedies which you can use safely without disturbing the internal homoeostasis?

I m not convinced that it is necessary. I actually did some research into this subject some years ago. Being a registered nurse I have a good understanding of anatomy and physiology and how the colon works. I think the best way to cleanse your colon is through the intake of a sufficient amount of fiber, water, probiotics and proper nutrients. I think that we as a society can become obsessed with "cleansing" and unless we understand the body's normal processes can easily be persuaded into thinking that we need to do something extra to help our bodies do something they are already well equipped to do if we take care of them (our bodies) properly.

Under ideal conditions, the body will regulate itself. However, this requires eating natural foods most of the time, which most people don't. If your diet consists largely of packaged foods, snacks and other junk food, your digestive system will go out of whack. In this case you would do well to undertake a 'cleansing', as long as it consisted of all natural ingredients, and worked slowly (at least 2 weeks).

Once you get back to eating natural foods, and an appropriate level of exercise, you shouldn't really need a cleansing more than once a year, if that. A couple of teaspoons of psyllium husk in a glass of orange juice each morning, followed by a glass of pure water, each morning, will help your digestion.

The other reason for a cleansing, is to remove undesirable parasites from your system, but that's another story. You need a cleansing product that will specifically do that.

The only people who advocate colon cleansing are those with bowel obsessions,  fetishes, and those who make products that they tout as colon cleansing agents.
Our bodies work just fine with the proper intake of natural foods and adequate amounts of liquids.
Diets that include fiber, vegetables and fruits will do best.  Meats should be eaten sparingly (infrequently and in small amounts), as it is not a dietary requirement any more.
Everyone has occasional constipation.  Colon cleansing has debilitating effects in some people and do not address these occasional problems.  Adding yogurt, and olive oil to your diet can do better for colon cleansing than those products that are overpriced on the market today, as they are designed for profit making not health improvement.

Other than a colonic or hydrotherapy, a sauna will help eliminate toxins with cleansing,  And, there are colon cleansers that come as powdered drinks.  You can take them with apple juice for better taste.  It will eliminate parasites, toxins and help you balance your health overall.

Life style and food habits have changed ,earlier ,people use to preform many activities  manually and ate natural or homemade food .Today people eat junk and fried food and have less manual labor .This in return hits our metabolism .so it is necessary for us to have colon cleaning at intervals,It keeps a person healthy as all the toxins are remove from the body ,one can have triphala at times one tsp before going to bed with milk or water ,you may have psyllium husk or can have beal (wood apple)powder before going to bed .
