Pain in your right upper quadrant on your right side under your ribs. Often this pain might occur after eating really rich food or too much food. The pain usually occurs at night. The pain is caused from stones in your gallbladder as they try to pass through the common bile duct to the liver. Nausea or vomiting are other symptoms, or your might burp more.
If you have intense pain that is not relieved in a reasonable period of time you need to go to the ER, as you probably have a stone or stones caught in the bile duct and will need surgery. If you have experienced pain which is usually relieved you should still inform your doctor, as they can do a ultrasound to see in you have gallstones. I can tell you from personal experience that if you get stones caught in the bile duct the pain is excruciating. I couldn't lay down or stand up, just sit doubled over, then when I got to the ER the pain medication did not relieve the pain. I was glad to go to surgery!
