   Why do I have so many sores in my mouth?
   
   I get all sorts of sores in my mouth all the time, whether they're canker sores or painful, white, swollen taste buds. What causes this to happen so often? I don't eat very many spicy or acidic foods at all. They're terribly painful.

   I asked a dentist about it once and he said they are caused by a virus.  I would visit my dentist though, he may be able to give you a rinse or something to help out.

   Sounds like you have issues.  If you smoke, you should stop.  Try brushing your tongue when you brush your teeth.  When you get the sores, try rinsing your mouth with salt water.  If they are canker sores the salt will help dry them out.  If you have a lot of dry mouth at night, try using Biotene  Rinse three to four times a day to prevent dry mouth and hopefully tongue sores.

      Thankfully, I don't smoke. Asthma and all! I use a mouthwash for canker sores, but it says not to use it more than seven days. I definitely have them longer than that! I've heard it might be my immune system, though.

   The problem can be, ill fitting dentures, or braces. Which, cause friction, and set up a breeding ground for infection. White, implies that it is fungal in nature, you may use olive leaf extract, as an oral rinse. Very effective against thrush. If it is canker sores, then its an imbalance of amino acids, lysine, and arginine. Caused from too much chocolate, or other high arginine foods. Lysine ointment, can be applied to these sores. As can coconut oil, which is high in lysine. Can also be caused from an imbalance of hormones. Flax seed oil, taken at 1000-2000mg daily, has been found to balance hormones. Among other supplements, a B-12 deficiency has been linked to sore mouths, and burning tongue, recommended dosage 1000mcg daily.    Kennedi, I can really relate to this question.  One of my ex-wives wouldn't go near my mouth, ever, because of the sores I SOMETIMES had.  (She feared herpes, and with her immune system being compromised as it was, she had reason.)
   
   But I knew--just KNEW it wasn't herpes....and finally got rid of them once and for all.
   
   I believe today that my greatest underlying problem was a mineral deficiency.  When I started using a liquid potassium-mineral supplement (extensively, at times), the sores went away within days and never returned.
   
   There will be a START of one every so often--maybe once every couple of years or so.  I don't use that mineral supplement today, so when I get a sore like that, I immediately start using colloidal silver--holding it in the mouth, swishing, swallowing.  Silver doesn't do much for a potassium deficiency (duh), but it does knock down a lot of viral and bacterial issues in a hurry.  And I do take a daily mineral supplement, just not the liquid version I used for a dozen years or so.
