Sick leave - do you take it or let it go?

We get 10 sick leave days a year but if we don't take it, it's not carried over to next year. So what's your view on it. will you take at-least half of those days as sick leave or just let it go?

That's right. I have heard so many people being fired after long service as they are replaced with new generation. If the company doesn't care and appreciate our hard work, why should we not take our sick leaves. Thank you for feedback.

Exactly Becky Bruce. Even if our heart says it's wrong, It's ok to take few sick leaves as it's our right. And, Yes when i take leave I refresh myself and give extra input on work next day.

our company used to give 5 sick leave days until we had one new employee who said it's law that we must have minimum 10 days. Owner knew this before but didn't told us.

I am in a company who doesn't care, if you take sick leave or not and doesn't pay anything extra if you don't take it. It's bit uncomfortable to take a sick leave when you are exactly not sick, but i like to take 1-2 sick leaves.
