That's right. I have heard so many people being fired after long service as they are replaced with new generation. If the company doesn't care and appreciate our hard work, why should we not take our sick leaves. Thank you for feedback.
When I said "old", it wasn't referring to age, but to employees that had been there a long time. It happens to both young and old. I was only 25 at the time!
To cloverleaffarm, You know it! Most companies and corporations are only concerned with the bottom dollar, nothing more, nothing less. An employee is just a cog in the machine. If the company wants to fire, they will fire even good employees!
Great point cloverleaffarm! There are far less corporations than there are workers yet the majority seems to be getting the short-end of the stick here.

Exactly Becky Bruce. Even if our heart says it's wrong, It's ok to take few sick leaves as it's our right. And, Yes when i take leave I refresh myself and give extra input on work next day.

our company used to give 5 sick leave days until we had one new employee who said it's law that we must have minimum 10 days. Owner knew this before but didn't told us.

I am in a company who doesn't care, if you take sick leave or not and doesn't pay anything extra if you don't take it. It's bit uncomfortable to take a sick leave when you are exactly not sick, but i like to take 1-2 sick leaves.
