I did a little bit of research on lucid dreaming for a couple of hubs I've written so I'm not an expert but I'm assuming that you're talking about waking up periodically in order to bring on lucid dreams. I think it depends on your goals. From what I read, some people do it because it's fun while others strive to learn more about themselves through dreaming. Taking control over your dreams may help you remember and understand them. If you're just doing it just because, then perhaps it's not worth it, especially if it's affecting your everyday life during the day such as work.
