   Wow. That's an interesting one. It depends on the context I guess. If everyone is sharing about the silly things they did, I suppose it'd be alright; if it seems the wrong place and time, I wouldn't say anything!!

   Absolutly! We are all human. We all do or say stupid things at one time or another. Some just think they are to good to admit they have done something stupid-does not mean they never have. Besides as we impress ourselves with positives like truth,love understanding and learning from stupid things of the past-We may also help someone else from doing the same stupid things. So in my opinion it's not always easy but it is a benifit to talk about it..

   I believe that those of us who can learn from our mistakes and take ourselves a little less seriously tend to be happy people.  Every person on this planet has done something "stupid" - the point would be did they learn from it? Can they help others not to make similar mistakes? If so, then something good came from it and you can simply move on and keep going until your next stupid mishap

      People, such as rue friends, families, and teachers are supposed to point out mistakes of people whom they really care about. How can be insecure? somethgblue! Truly open-minded people accept the "pointing out" as a gift! Who needs the sunshine???

   Yes I can because I can laugh at the silly things I've done and said! 
   
   This is going back in the 1970's when I use to be a smoker.  I boarded the bus to go to work and asked the driver for 20 number 6 king size!
   
   Another time in the 1990's I tripped over in the middle of a town centre and when a very nice gentleman came to my rescue, I said, "Take no notice of me I do this to draw attention to myself." 
   
   I also said to a newly engaged lady, "Happy birthday!"

   Absolutely! There are three reasons for this. I've forgiven myself; that is, one stupid thing I don't do any more is beat myself up about the stupid things I do. Two, I learn from my mistakes, and I want others to learn from them, as well. In fact, I've written several books teaching people how to succeed, and use my stupid mistakes as example. Third, more and more, I see how important it is to laugh at ourselves.

      Of course not everyone is smart enough to realize that. People who do stupid things are not necessarily stupider, while those who have done but never realize or admit it are. What's the point of your next question, somethgblue?

      Cause & effect usually dictates my realization of personal stupidity, but I suppose if people wasn't always pointing things out for others in error, we would have a massive accumulation of wandering idiots?  Oops...

    Oh now I can - beacuse I am older and feel that some of the stupid things I did have contributed to who I am today.  I have made some pretty "stupid" choices and decisions, even recently which cost me my house, but I use it as a teaching moment for myself:-)

    Oh yes, to err is human, stupid things often have an element of humour in them. When we accept that we are not perfect then we can cultivate the ability to laugh at ourselves.
    I once gave a presentation to a group of high powered academics, it was only afterwards I realised I had my skirt tucked into the back of my underpants.
    Stupid and very embarrasing at the time, I was mortified, but now years later I cannot revisit the memory without a smile and a chuckle. I have told some friends, but it is now a source of merriment rather than discomfort.

    Sure. You have two choices. You can laugh about these things or cry about them. If you laugh, it's comedy. If you cry, you're feeling sorry for yourself. Most of the time, you haven't done anything that someone else hasn't done. Have fun with it.

    Yes, because I do stupid things all the time and I try to laugh at them, rather than cry. If it's very personal in nature then I am very uncomfortable.

    At the right time and place, I don't see why not. Also, I  understand that sharing our experiences, even stupid things, can save others from humiliation or harm...if they care to listen. If nothing else, talking about stupid things might cause a good laugh for someone.

    That depends on who I'm telling it to, but yes I can do that. It's funny to share these stories, though I would still be careful what stupid thing I'm talking about.
